The Brain Tree sits alone in the Haunted Woods. He is the only tree to have developed intelligence, and he thirsts for knowledge. He will ask visitors to complete a quest for him.
According to a Neopedia article, the Brain Tree guards the entrance to a secret clearing deep in the Woods that harbours a deadly monster.
Brain Tree Quest
- Main article: Brain Tree Quest
The Brain Tree is always hungry for knowledge. He will ask users who visit him to find out when and where a certain Neopet died: this information can be found by doing quests for other Haunted Woods residents. Originally, this meant doing a quest for Edna and the Esophagor - now the player must do two quests for the Esophagor.
The player is given a time limit to return with the correct answer, and can only attempt the Brain Tree's quest once per day.
Brucey B and the Lucky Coin
- Main article: Brucey B and the Lucky Coin
Brucey B and company visited the Brain Tree to ask for help. The Brain Tree claimed to have known they were coming, and said the lucky coin would be found through the Haunted Woods.
Defenders of Neopia
- Main article: Defenders of Neopia
One day, a Green Krawk and Red Usul got themselves lost in the Haunted Woods while trying to find the Brain Tree. Just as they were about to give up and go home, they finally managed to locate the Brain Tree. They tried to give the Brain Tree some information in order to complete a quest, the unfortunately the two had caught the Brain Tree in a foul mood. Instead of rewarding the pair, the Brain threatened, grabbed, and attacked them. A passing Blue Nimmo heard the two Neopets screaming and decided to call the Defenders of Neopia for help. Judge Hog immediately dispatched the Masked Intruder to the scene. After the user defeats the Brain Tree in the Battledome, the Masked Intruder is able to return the Brain Tree to his senses and rescue the Krawk and Usul.
