Underneath The Golden Dubloon restaurant is a dingy, small little room used solely for gambling. Only one game is played - Krawps, possibly the most confusing game ever to hit the shores of Krawk Island, or, well.. the whole of Neopia for that matter.

There simply aren't enough Dubloons around to play this game, so the pirates gladly accept Neopoints. Krawps is a dice game where you place different bets on different areas of the table, and hope the dice are in your favour!

How To Play[edit]

Krawps is by far the most exciting game on Krawk Island. The game is fast moving and there is no limit to how much you can win. Krawps is not as confusing as it looks. It actually is an easy game to learn. An understanding of the basics of the game and how to make a Bilge Line bet will get you started on your way. You don't have to be concerned with any other of the Krawps bets when you begin to play.

Bilge Line Bet

A simple Bilge line bet works like this. You place your bet on the Bilge line before you begin your roll. You must place a Bilge line bet before placing any other bet. If you roll a 7 or 11 you win. If you roll a 2, 3 or 12, you lose. Any other number you roll becomes the skull number and a skull will appear on the board. You must roll that number again before a seven is rolled. If that happens, you win even money for your Bilge line bet. If a seven is rolled before the skull number is rolled again, you lose.

Example: You roll the dice for the first time and they land on a 4 and a 2. The total is six, which becomes the "Skull." A grey skull will appear on the number 6 on the board. You must now roll a six before you roll a 7. If you roll the six, the Bilge line bet wins and you start rolling again. If you roll a seven before the six, the Bilge line bet loses.

Odds Bet

Once the skull is established you can make an additional bet behind the Bilge line bet. This is known as the "Odds Bet" where you can place a bet twice the size of your Bilge line bet. If your Bilge line bet is 5 Neopoints you are allowed to make an odds bet of 10 Neopoints. The odds bet is paid as following:

  • If the skull is on 4 or 10 it pays 9 to 5 odds
  • If the skull is on 5 or 9 it pays 7 to 5 odds
  • If the skull is on 6 or 8 it pays 6 to 5 odds
Example: Your Bilge line bet is 5 NP and the skull is set to 6. You place 10 NP on the Odds area and if you roll a 6 before a 7, you win 12 NP from the odds bet, 5 NP from the Bilge bet and you get back your initial placed NP for a total of 32 NP.

Anchor

This is a very simple bet and only lasts one roll. If you roll a 3, 4, 9, 10, or 11 you win the same amount you bet. If you roll a 2 or 12, you win double the amount you bet. Any other number and you lose.

Example: You bet 10 NP on the Anchor and you roll a 9. You win 10 NP and 10 NP stays on the Anchor for the next roll.

'Ardway Bet

After you place a Bilge line bet, you may place a 'Ardway bet at anytime To win on a 'Ardway bet, the dice must show a pair before the number "7" is rolled or any other combination of the 'Ardway number is rolled. This bet can be made on the 4, 6, 8, and 10. The 'Ardway bets are paid as following:

  • 'Ardway 4 or 10 pays 8 for 1
  • 'Ardway 6 or 8 pays 10 for 1
Example: You place a 5 NP bet on the 'Ardway 6. The number must be rolled as 3 & 3, before any combination of a 6 (4/2; 5/1; 2/4; 1/5) or a 7 is rolled. If the roll wins, you receive 45 NP and your original 5 NP bet stays on the 'Ardway 6.

Krawk Hi/Lo

Similar to the 'Ardway bets, the Krawk Hi or Lo can be placed anytime after you bet on the Bilge line. However, these bets only last one roll. To win on a Hi or Lo, the dice must total 12 or 2, respectively. The Krawk Hi/Lo bets are paid 30 for 1 and can quickly make you lots of Neopoints.

Example: You place a 5 NP bet on Hi and you roll a 12, you receive 145 NP and 5 NP stays on the the table.

Number Bet

After your skull has been set, you may place a bet on any number above except for the number that has the skull. To win, the number you bet must be rolled before a seven. Your bet will be returned if you roll the skull number before a seven or the bet number. The payoff is 9 to 5 for the 4 or 10, 7 to 5 for the 5 or 9, and 6 to 5 for the 6 or 8.

Example: On your first roll, you roll a 9. You place a 5 NP bet on the 4. You are betting that you will roll a 4 before you roll a 7. If a 4 is rolled, you win 9 NP and plus your original 5 NP bet for a total of 14 NP.
