Dr Landelbrot
Dr. Landelbrot is a Lutari scientist who summoned numerous Neopians to his spaceship. During the Moltara Mystery, he revealed that he is responsible for the Random Events. Following the conclusion of the event, users can still visit him aboard The Coincidence, where he sends them out to retrieve items in return for a chance to use his Random Event machine.
He has a Petpet assistant called Scintilly.

Moltara Mystery[edit]

Landelbrot was first spotted on site when he attempted to contact several Neopians via Random Event. When users later discovered the Water Tower Laboratory, they had to complete a series of puzzles to activate a portal held within. Once fully activated, the portal led to The Coincidence, Landelbrot's spaceship in orbit around Neopia. Here, he instructed users to collect various items to help him fix his Random Event machine.
Behind the scenes[edit]
Dr Landelbrot is named after Benoit Mandelbrot, a mathematician who developed the theory of fractals and contributed to Chaos theory, which explains that systems that are deterministic and not random may still be impossible to predict.
Dr Landelbrot appeared in the Advent Calendar on 24 December 2014.
