Keep on topic

do not use this disscusion board to talk about what team you are on, or how awesome they are. that is what a forum is for. this discussion page is used ONLY to help expand the main article. please don't do anything of the sorts which i mentioned. :( --Jacob 20:18, 4 Jun 2006 (CDT)

Team Rosters/Image Links

On the order of teams shown on the article, it should start with Altador and end with the Sapce Station, as Altador is listed as "team one" in the roster link. Also, posting the links to all the current team images as refernce to what each player fully looked like.

Don't know if next year, these images will be changed or not. It's possible.--Jacob 14:23, 5 Jun 2006 (CDT)

The Kiko Lake full team image has changed...it seemed i was right. :o Anyways, with the release of the new staff tournament comes all new images as well:

If they do this again (the altador cup) next year, i'm pretty sure the same people won't be playing, so it would be good for someone to save the images perhaps.--Jacob 23:54, 9 Jun 2006 (CDT)

I took the liberty and saved all the images of the full teams and staff members. as long as my computer doesn't crash, i have all the data for uploading if we should need it. --Jacob 18:53, 24 Apr 2007 (CDT)
Will begin uploading all the team images to the database soon, due to computer work going on. If there are some missing, please let me know. Hopefully, when the wiki coding is updated here, we can add these effectivelty to the yooyuball sections of the world articles. For now...at least the data will be here. --Jacob 04:32, 20 Aug 2007 (UTC)

Winning Results (Cup + Staff)

Adding the results from the tournament here. made into tables, will be decided if the will need to be used in the article later. colors can be added to these later to make them more readable and similar to the real tables on Neopets.--Jacob 23:12, 15 Jun 2006 (CDT)

Redesign of team rosters

to go along with the updating of the article before the release of the new Altador Cup this June (just in one month! :o), I thought it would be a good idea to move all the team data to each other their relating worlds. This would mean Meridell, Darigan Citadel and even Kiko Lake would have their own Yooyuball section. It would allow each article to speak of their own team dynamics, and keep them seperate from the whole of the Altador Cup. What do others think on this? --Jacob 02:40, 1 May 2007 (CDT)

Sounds good to me. --Macbeth 12:04, 1 May 2007 (CDT)

"Altador Cup 2006" goal complete?

Is the Altador Cup 2006 goal complete? I mentioned a goal on the Community portal, and i wonder if the criteria is met (year 2006 information complete and article ready for 2007). Want verification before i take the goal down. --Jacob 02:08, 22 May 2007 (CDT)

I'd say so. I can't think of anything else to add and the article seems pretty much complete. --Dizzy 09:09, 22 May 2007 (CDT)

Altador Cup 2007

It seems that TNT have decided to change most of the team rosters slightly. The group image is still the same and the player profiles haven't been updated yet, just the new pictures show up. It seems that all of the teams except Brightvale, Kreludor, Tyrannia, Mystery Island have one new player as of this post. --Dizzy 10:55, 31 May 2007 (CDT)

Kreludor was taken off the listing, and Shenkuu joined. --SwordFire 21:40, 1 Jun 2007 (CDT)
That seems highly bizarre, because i saw that Kreludor had a new player like most of the other teams (when Dizzy mentioned the changes). Why did they change their mind about kreludor? That it wasn't an established team or world like the rest? *shrugs* Does anyone remember what type of Neopet the new Kreludor player was? I'm beginning to wish i saved the picture now... --Jacob 15:18, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)
I don't know which one is new, but you could try going from http://images.neopets.com/altador/altadorcup/head_shots/kreludor_1.gif to http://images.neopets.com/altador/altadorcup/head_shots/kreludor_5.gif or the group picture [1]--13:47, 5 Jun 2007 (CDT)
We wouldn't be able to add it to the NeoDex without knowing the Neopets proper name, but i can save the image of the new neopet if it's there as you mentioned...which means i haven't checked yet. ;) will be doing that now. --Jacob 14:12, 5 Jun 2007 (CDT)
Ok, I see. By the way *point to section below* the pictures of the rank badges go up to 20 as of now ([2]). Do we need to save them although we don't know the actual ranking titles? --Demon 14:26, 5 Jun 2007 (CDT)

*gives you a high five* good work on noticing that. :D Though i'm not sure how the titles are organized. I played 5 winning games of yooyuball, 3 slushie games, and 4 screamers (i'm sure you know the real titles)...but my rank didn't change. I don't think we will need to save all the badge images, but we will (or can at least try) to find all the accompaning rank titles for each badge, and how and when the ranks are received.

'07 Images

In keeping with what we have been doing with recent plots, a list of new images from the 2007 cup include:

Altador

Brightvale

Darigan Citadel

Faerieland

Haunted Woods

Kiko Lake

Krawk Island

Shenkuu

Lost Desert

Maraqua

Meridell

Mystery Island

Roo Island

Terror Mountain

Tyrannia

Virtupets

Some of those team images may be repeats of last years, but I tried to be exhaustive in that front. The miscellaneous images are just this years (I hope). We have a lot of work to do, this year. :S --Macbeth 15:27, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)

I think it's important to note the team member headshots (virtupets_3.gif, 4, 5 as an example) aren't replaced with a new image link when a player is replaced. It's given the exact same image link, but a different image. It happened last year with Helmo Timm and with the new players this year as well (especially the team images...remember, i do still have the old team images ;) ). Mind you the image links are still noteworthy becauses that's where the images are linked, it's just not "safe" to image link the content when referencing something. --Jacob 15:38, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)
*sigh* We'll just have to upload them all to the wiki at some point. Oh well. Also, navigations:

--Macbeth 15:59, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)

Would be best not to forget the female "Help Me Decide" quiz giver (shown differently here), who is quoted saying...

A new recruit, eh?!

The rather angry looking Quiggle looks you up and down. She finally addresses you, but that look on her face isn't the smile you were hoping for. "You're an athlete? If you say so."

She quickly scratches something down on her clipboard before continuing.

"You have two options. If you're having trouble choosing, I can administer the Altador Cup Quiz. All you have to do is answer some questions and I'll attempt to choose the best team for you based on your answers. Or, you can go directly to the Sign-up Station if you've already decided on a team. What'll it be? And hurry up. I don't have all day."

Seeing as the quiz is part of the sign up process, and i don't know much about it (nor is there much on it in the current article), I decided to take it. Questions below. --Jacob 16:58, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)

An additional image of the trophy was shown for the finals here... --Macbeth 00:51, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Do you think the trophy should replace the trophy shown at the top og the Altador Cup article? Or should it be a seperate upload? --Jacob 13:46, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm... It would be a good idea, as the existing image appears to be much the 2006 version of the image at the top of the 2007 article, if you follow... specific to years rather than the cup itself. --Macbeth 02:10, 11 Jul 2007 (UTC)

July 14, 2007 update...

plot seems to be over...just waiting for eventual prize shop images, then final touches can be done to main article. --Jacob 03:30, 15 Jul 2007 (UTC)

"Help Me Decide" quiz 2007

The following are the questions and answrs for the sign up quiz of 2007.

"This isn't just for fun, you know?!" The Quiggle's stern gaze makes you a bit uneasy. "Quizzes are serious business!"

After jotting even more feverisly on her clipboard than before, she clears her throat. "Let's begin!"

1. If you found a lost Puppyblew, what would you do?

  • Put it in my gallery! :)
  • Find the rightful owner.
  • Give it to my Neopet.
  • Give it to the Turmaculus.

2. Say you kept the Petpet. What would you name it?

  • Fluffy
  • Devourerofsouls
  • Turmyfood
  • Preciouskittywhiskerskawaiibaka

3. Can you name all the worlds in Neopia in under 10 seconds?

  • Yes, I can!
  • No, it takes me longer than that.
  • I've never bothered trying.
  • Tyrannia, Krawk Island, Kiko Lake and Faerieland. Yep, that's all of them!

4. What is the status of your Neopian Bank account?

  • Oh right. I should make one...
  • Pathetically empty.
  • Plenty in there!
  • I'm a Chomby Curator!

5. Neopian hot dogs. Opinion?

  • Weird.
  • Tasty.
  • Expensive.
  • What kind of meat IS it?

6. Have you ever participated in the Battledome?

  • Just for avatars.
  • I lost to Inflatable Balthazar. *cry*
  • I totally pwn the BD. I'm 1337!
  • Just during the wars.

7. Do you prefer Neopian heroes or villains?

  • Villains!
  • Heroes!
  • Those dashing anti-heroes! *swoon*
  • I really just like the Breadmaster for some reason.

8. Does Jelly World really exist?

  • No.
  • No.
  • No.
  • Definitely No.

She pauses for a moment and looks up with quite the puzzled look on her face before letting out a sigh. "Who comes up with these questions?!"

9. How do you interact with the Money Tree?

  • I donate to it... one Neopoint at a time! MUAHAHA.
  • I send all my excess items there.
  • I sit under it all day. Sometimes I bring a sandwich to eat.
  • I can only get fishing junk from it. ;_;

10. What do I have in my pocket?

  • Lint!
  • A... ring?
  • Lip balm?
  • Neopoints! Can I have some plzzzzzzz?

11. Are you actually going to join the team recommended by this quiz?

  • Sure, why not?
  • Maaaybe.
  • Most likely not.
  • We have a choice?

"Those are all the questions. The quicker you click the 'Submit Your Answers' button, the quicker I can give you the results."

(results processed)

"Uh huh... uh huh... hrrmmm..."

It takes her a while, but the Quiggle finally presents you your results.

"Well, it's official. You're pretty strange. But we knew that already, didn't we?" You're not sure why she's so negative all the time, but you are sure it's probably better that you don't ask.

"Here's the team the quiz has chosen for you. Don't blame me or anything. I just work here." She hands you a slip of paper which reads:

Thank you for taking The Altador Cup Quiz of Persuasion.

Your recommended team is:

(random team and join button)

If you have any issues with these results, please fill out form 67R-Z, have it stamped by 7 of the Altador Cup committee members, place it in a manila envelope along with 4 forms of identification, place 12 stamps in 3 rows of 4 on the upper left portion of the envelope, and drop it in the mail at 7:42 PM NST on Thursday. You will receive an answer in 6 - 8 weeks months.

"You don't have to sign up for this team, but the quiz is quite accurate, so you should think about it. If you want to join a different team, please head to the Sign-up Station to fill out the proper forms."

She removes from the clipboard the piece of paper she's been scribbling on this whole time, crumples it up, and tosses it in the rubbish bin.

"NEXT!!"

How this will be added to the article will be decided at a later date. --Jacob 16:58, 2 Jun 2007 (CDT)

That really should be in the article! --Freefalldreams 12:16, 27 Jul 2007 (UTC)
When we know how to add it to the article, it shall be done. ;) --Jacob 13:48, 27 Jul 2007 (UTC)
I just thought of something...perhaps the quiz merits its own page? I mean, nobody's figured out how to slip it into the Altador Cup page yet, so...worth a though? --Freefalldreams 22:13, 25 May 2008 (CDT)

Splitting of article

It looks like this article is getting a little long like the Tale of Woe not so long ago, so it may need to be split into parts as well. This is a little more easier (maybe!?!), because we can make seperate altador cup articles for each year, detailing those events. The main Altador Cup article will stay, and the other articles will be "Altador Cup 2006", "Altador Cup 2007", etc. Sound alright? --Jacob 22:27, 3 Jun 2007 (CDT)

Yup, sounds good to me. --Dizzy 09:15, 4 Jun 2007 (CDT)
I agree as well.--Demon 10:02, 4 Jun 2007 (CDT)
And someday "Altador Cup 2008", right? --Freefalldreams 19:16, 26 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Yes! The time has come! Altador Cup 2008 is here! --Freefalldreams 02:00, 25 Jun 2008 (CDT)
