The Sparky is a retired species of Petpet that looks like a winged Spardel. The Sparky was created as a tribute to a real-life dog named Sparky who had died shortly before the Sparky Petpet was released. This real-life Sparky was owned by former TNT artist Claire Hummel and was the original inspiration for the creation of the Spardel.[1]
Within the Neopets universe, the Sparky is a winged likeness of King Coltzan's beloved Petpet. A free Sparky was given out to any user who visited Coltzan's Shrine on August 29, 2013.
