For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

That footbridge was bothersome. Couldn't find a name for it to save my life. I found loads of pictures (assuming it was the correct one in question,) though each mentioning of the bridge in the movie - seemed to have multiple names in conjunction with it. xD

Siniri's brought it to my attention that the First Lady in clue 4 did not spend most of her life in my hometown, just the first part of her life.
EDIT: Okay, we're forty minutes from the deadline and I've only got two responses. If I don't get at least one more by 9 PM NST I'm going to extend the deadline to this time tomorrow, since PPT was so hard to navigate earlier today.
EDIT 2: I've gotten 4 responses, so I'm ending the round.
----
Round 3 Answers1. Lexington, Massachusetts
2. Jim Varney (AKA Ernest of the "Earnest" movies)
3. Fark
4. Jefferson Davis and Mary Todd Lincoln (The "vampirically-named university" is Transylvania.)
5. Adolph Rupp(the "famous Usenet rule" mentioned is Godwin's Law.)
6. Thoroughbred Horse
7. Marquis De Lafayette
8. Lexmark International
9. Belle Brezing
10. Fazoli's (The other restaurant mentioned is Long John Silver's. Fazoli's is way better.)
And the town: Lexington, Kentucky(since we've got an incorporated city/county government, it's properly "Lexington-Fayette Urban County", but that's a stupid name).

Ok. If I had more time I would have gotten them all right because they all come up in wikipedia. Well never mind at lest I answered 2 q's. If ppt was not down things would have being different.

Awh, shucks.
I found the University.
I thought it was Mary Todd Lincoln.. and there were only so many Presidents to choose from; but I hadn't looked at the dates for his Presidency. xD
Is it just me, but if you glance at Davis out of the corner of your eye, he kind of resembles Lincoln?
My questions will be up tomorrow, early afternoon.
edit. Yay, it works! (Hopefully). I tried editing the post almost thirty minutes ago... then it didn't go through. Has anyone else been having problem with PPT?
Wed Jan 21, 2009 10:39 pm
Indeed. I couldn't get it to load at all yesterday, and was thinking I'd have to come today panicking and asking for the round to be extended... and then I find it hasn't even started xD.

pinkpt.com didn't even register as a website on downforeveryoneorjustme.com yesterday or most of today. It's still a bit hiccoughy, so I'd suggest waiting a bit longer to post your clues, Miyu, and then extending the deadline if PPT goes down again for a substantial chunk of the 48 hours after you post them. No wonder activity's slowed down so much here lately; it's been going on for a couple of months now. I hope they fix it for good soon.

Okay, will do.
It looks like it is getting better. *crosses fingers*
I didn't have to refresh the page, or wait at all. xD

Look forward to ya q's Miyu. I hope ppt stays up for the length of the game.

o.O
My edit didn't make it?
So what should we do?
See if everyone playing has access to PPT?
Post the Q's and hope for the best?

I'd say just post them while you can, and leave 'em up for at least 3 days (longer if the forum goes down again, as seems highly likely at this point) to give people a chance to realize that they're up.

So, what is my hometown?
Answers should be in by Wednesday at 9pm PST.
This should be enough time for people to realize it is back up, or if the site goes down. xD
Can't quite decide if they are almost too hard, or too easy.

Okay, I really should have started on these clues sooner. I'm finding some of them a bit vague, Miyu (which I'm sure was designed to make it harder for us, which I appreciate)...

Thanks, Miyu. I'm discovering that I keep making these clues harder on myself by not going with my first instinct.
P.S. Stu, I was just able to send my answers via PM successfully, so you might want to try again (but I'd check your outbox 1st to see if they went through without telling you -- I accidentally sent 5 to someone yesterday).
