Thanks for the help[edit]

I thank you for your determination to revert the vandalism which is occuring here on on the NeoDex. It's beginning to be a daily event now, though i'm sure it will stop soon...eventually it will...hopefully. :o *crosses fingers* :D --Jacob 11:55, 10 Mar 2007 (CST)

Considering the vandals (or even possibly a single vandal) are coming from different IPs, and always attacking the same page, I don't think they will give up that easily... :/ --SwordFire 19:08, 10 Mar 2007 (CST)

Admin status acquired[edit]

For your efforts and dedication to the NeoDex, i feel you have earned the right to be an administrator. congradulations! :) --Jacob 13:59, 18 Apr 2007 (CDT)

I'd also like to extend my congratulations! Now you won't have to revert spammy edits manually ;D --Dizzy 15:23, 18 Apr 2007 (CDT)
Congratulations :)--Demon 15:39, 18 Apr 2007 (CDT)
Thank you - It is indeed much easier :D --SwordFire 08:24, 19 Apr 2007 (CDT)
Seems you have taken the guard. I hope people aren't giving you too much trouble.--Demon 15:08, 13 Jun 2008 (CDT)
With Jacob suddenly go MIA for past few weeks (although he does went online periodically on Neopets), someone has to hold the fort here... I'm SO glad to see you here. :D --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 23:39, 13 Jun 2008 (CDT)
I am afraid I am going on a school trip next week, that means no Internet for me :| I will try to remember to check back more often, though.--Demon 16:50, 14 Jun 2008 (CDT)

NeoDex Search Plugin[edit]

Can you explain more about the "Neodex Search Plugin"? This the first I've heard about it. Is it a project you worked at on the side? --Jacob 15:51, 16 Sep 2007 (UTC)

As I mentioned, it's nothing much. It allows the user to add the Neodex to their search bar within Firefox 2 and IE 7, thus allowing them to search for an article on Neodex directly from the browser itself. If required, we can also add search suggestions to the search (eg. typing "neo" returns "neopets", "neopoints" and "neodex"), but for that we'll require at least a database.
It's something I noticed while setting up Firefox 2 at my workplace. --SwordFire 00:45, 17 Sep 2007 (UTC)

Access to Secret Staff Forum Granted[edit]

Hello :) As a staff member at PPT, you have now been granted access to the top secret staff board at PPT for you to meet all the other staff members, and to partake in any site discussion that goes there. We also hold optional weekly meetings online if you wish to attend and find help for any PPT-related projects that you may be on.

All PPT staff now has access, and we need some NeoDex representation there, so head to http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/ - register an account and email me kym@kymhuynh.com your username there so I can grant you access. Hope to see you there. --Kym 06:54, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Double Redirects[edit]

Oh, thanks for picking up all those double redirects! I didn't think to check for them when I moved the page, sorry. ;) --Macbeth 02:27, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I was just looking through the special pages when I noticed the double redirects. :P --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 15:25, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I need a replacement...or something[edit]

I'm finally making it officially and stating that I won't be here for awhile, and will need someone to take the lead...or something. Go to the talk page of the community portal to see what I'm talking about. --Jacob 08:22, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Anti-spam[edit]

Nice anti-vandal double-teaming, today! ^^ --Macbeth 18:31, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Indeed. :D --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 18:38, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

daily dare[edit]

okay, thanks for clearing that up. your idea seems more efficient. i will try to keep the 2009 page up to date, and if you please, will research the 2008 daily dare and upload the information onto the 2008 page. 202.86.210.32 04:52, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't really mind[edit]

I don't really mind about continuous changes. NeoDex has to include some information about shop stocks. Take a look at this article: Faerie Weapon Shop A Neezles A 18:26, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Talk with piano[edit]

He's underage, so I can't contact him through Neomail. And are you abided by COPPA? Is this site 13+ only? A Neezles A 16:41, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, my bad. But still, Neodex is not a place for private communication. As for COPPA, not for Neodex. --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 16:53, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi I am the underage guy who's 8 years old. Allan Piano965

Winner's curse[edit]

Hey, short version: I deleted the article Winner's curse because quite frankly, I couldn't see how it was an article (see version history).

Long problem-filled version: As you may remember, I resigned a few months ago. So I don't know if the deletion I performed can be considered legitimate. Problem is, nobody ever removed my powers from me. I messaged Kym a few days ago about that. It would be nice if you could tell me what I am supposed to do and if I should restrain myself from sysop actions. --Demon 01:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Once you became sysop, you became a Neodex slave forever, muahaha! ;P
Jokes aside, I agree that we should remove the sysop permission for inactive accounts (> 3~6 months?) and clearly resigned users, in case of account hijack. If they return again, we could add the sysop permission again. At the moment, if any one of us (sysop) go rouge, we might as well kill the whole Neodex (you know, due to lack of active Neodex administrator to stop rouge sysop in time). :P
I had tried sending private message to Kym several times on the forum on a different issue, but I can't seem to get him. I will try again on another communication channel. In the mean time, I don't mind if you use the sysop power. Nice to see you again. :) --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 02:29, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Hehe, thanks mate :) Would be nice if you could also address the inactivity of User:NeoEva88 alongside with me.
Looks like we really have got some activity problems at Neodex :/ At the moment, I do not intend to return (due to me being busy with lessons and real life) and as far as I can see, most of the others aren't very active either. We have like 5 active users at one time at most, of which maybe two are sysops *sigh* What are you gonna do, it has always been like that as far as I can remember. I am glad there are still a few (you, Dizzy and Emeraldosprey) who keep the thing running. Good job, guys :D *hands cookies* --Demon 23:03, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi guys, thanks for the pokes. I made all the changes requested and have removed sysop powers from inactive accounts identified. I usually reply to emails and PMs at 12 PM and 4 PM every day. If I haven't replied to any of your messages in three days, feel free to send it again.--Kym 02:17, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Kym, I don't really think this is a good idea because the inactive editors may come back sooner or later and will be shocked to see that they no longer have admin powers. Destiny Charlotte 02:23, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry. :) The accounts I sent to Kym are truly inactive or retired. If you're wondering, the only inactive account which I sent to Kym does not have any edit since 2006. *Pointing to NeoEva88, mentioned by Demon* --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 19:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Ahhh, so that's how it went down. MWA HA HA HA HA!!! *ahem* Will go and try some things out to help. --Jacob 20:34, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: Thank you for your help[edit]

Ah, you're welcome! I myself have been kind of obsessed with Neopets lately, so why not help the Neodex with all these new things I've learned on Neopets and add them to NeoDex ;D Charlotte xoxo 03:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and the only active editors right now are you, me, and KyogreOfTheSea who helps out with the Daily Puzzle answers :D -- This comment was left unsigned by A Neezles A (talk | contribs)
And of course, Dizzy and Emeraldosprey.
That vandalism made by Hagrid was annoying, wasn't it? ;) -- This comment was left unsigned by A Neezles A (talk | contribs)
And I could be very scary when annoyed. In worst cases, I'm willing to block the whole ISP for extended period of time (which I did it before). --SwordFire ( talk | contrib ) 18:56, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm currently an active user too. :P And also, would it be appropriate for the vandalized pages to be move-protected? I predict that the vandal would be back sometime later on. Pinkgirl34 22:35, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Yep, you were right. Hagrid is back on Wheeler user, but luckily Dizzy blocked him and moved all pages to what it was. Destiny Charlotte 02:03, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
That was fast. :) Pinkgirl34 02:12, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Um, SwordFire, the vandalism attack came back on User:Tewapack and User:Willy on Wheels. Willy on Wheels? Wikipedia vandaliser-- I should have known! Destiny Charlotte 15:13, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
And if you or any admin can PLEASE restore my userpage and talk page to the way it was! Destiny Charlotte 15:22, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. I'm waking up earlier than usual just to find some vandalism to revert. Luckily there's an early bird around ;D Destiny Charlotte 03:10, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
BTW, the weekend is coming up. If many people aren't on then I'll be there to revert the vandalism. And also, for some reason I wake up earlier on the weekends ;D Destiny Charlotte 03:55, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Yup, he's back on Jpgordon. Destiny Charlotte 17:07, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

(moving to the left) Dude, looks like I requested my powers to be removed at exactly the wrong time. You sorted it all out or still need any help?--Demon 21:42, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
