Gah!!! I fail as a Neopets player!

I'm still in the market for an... expensive item, and I saw someone on the TP offering one for just over a million NP, plus some furniture. SCORE!

So I neomailed the trader and asked what kind of furniture she wanted, and if she'd be willing to take a Baby PB, plus some furniture (I wasn't planning on spending more than 100k or so), plus 400k in NP. It would clean me out, but for such a great discount, it would be worth it.

The catch was, I wasn't sure she was actually asking for a discount. Her account was only a week old.

So, when she Neomails me back telling me she'll probably take whatever I offer, even though someone offered a decent, appropriate price for the item, I become guilt-ridden and neomail her back, saying, "Look, you'd be better off taking person X's bid."

*beats her head into the monitor* I just. Couldn't. Do it. Nevermind that it'll take me another month to earn up the NP to buy one at the price it's usually going for now; I just didn't think I could stand the idea that I'd (potentially) "scammed" a new player.

Then she neomailed be back saying I should place my bid anyway. So I have, and now I'm wondering what's going on....

On Neoquest 1 on evil, won against Jahbal but lost to Mastermind. No silver Trophy, and the game dragged for months... If only RE were worth enough when I start again.... I had not enough potion to help me and I should have used a weapon that permitted to self-heal..

I also made another blunder, took a chance and lost. In order to proabaly gain a stat or two, I labbed our Tyrannian Uni (potion and painted $$$) and it turned into a Green Techo. Now it's a glowing Techo but it so far no consaolation. Maybe it will turn into a great looking pet sometimes again.

Is there such a thing as Worst player of the week? I'd get the trophy for sure...

On the plus side, I have a few challenge cards nearing completion.

I also made another blunder, took a chance and lost. In order to proabaly gain a stat or two, I labbed our Tyrannian Uni (potion and painted $$$) and it turned into a Green Techo. Now it's a glowing Techo but it so far no consaolation. Maybe it will turn into a great looking pet sometimes again.

I'm sure the lab will give you something decent eventually. It took me a month to get my darigan peophin, but I still got her (and then eventually zapped her again, but that's another story).

What goes around, comes around. I commend you. There are lots of players who can say that they'd do something in a given situation, but it's situations like these that really show you what kind of player/person you are.

So I've been doing Jhudora's quests to get the avvie. Today I was on quest 18 -- only two away. I had to get a rock piggy bank. Picked one up on the SW for 2500NP. Then the phone rang -- no problem, I can multitask. Well, in talking to my brother and looking stuff up on-line for him and checking his e-mail, I FORGOT TO GO BACK! Sorry, you'll have to start over. GRRRRRRR! It was only two clicks away from completing the quest!!!

My only consolation is that the rock piggy bank is going for 1000NP more than I spent -- but since yesterday's Jhudora quest was 12K, it's a very small consolation.

Well, nothing now to do but laugh...

What goes around, comes around. I commend you. There are lots of players who can say that they'd do something in a given situation, but it's situations like these that really show you what kind of player/person you are.

Thank you. I'd honestly rather not have the Faerie pb than get guilty every time I looked at my Bori.

Well, she didn't give me the Faerie paint brush, which I kind of expected. We kept in contact through neomails, and the last one she sent me told me I was in her top three bids. I hope whoever she chose actually gave her a decent deal.

Found a bunch of codestones a few days ago (all Orn, actually )
Am now reselling all of the furniture and MPs I bought for that trade for a marginal profit.
The snow faerie got sick of me winning decent stuff off of her and hasn't given me a decent quest in days.

Edit: Not so much a gloat as a "what the heck" moment- I just got a neomail from some guy I've never heard of, asking if I'd be his neofriend. I kindly declined, then I wandered over to auctions to check my bid on a cheap techo trans potion, only to find that he outbid me before he neomailed me! I think he was hoping... erm, actually, I'm not sure what he was thinking.
