Is there a place you can go to see how this constellation is connected? On all the others, I saw a pic of it before I had to connect it...this time I didn't.

Been there, done that, several times over. In fact several times over everything it seems. My next attempt(s) after I do my laundry today (sigh) will be the "contrary" method of only changing 2 things or so many many times over, until I click so much that TNT will have to let me advance! Seriously, though, now would be the best time to implement that "credit of 1 NP per page refresh" in my opinion. :D

EDIT: I have noticed that when I flood and get back to "original" state, the only room that consistently changes upon "reset" is my 3rd room. Adding to that my noticing my 2nd wheel in 1st room must be open to allow anything in my 3rd room to flow, means ... I still don't get it. Sigh.

Obviously you didn't click the amulet then. You DO need to see it before you can connect it. Go back and do it again.

Thanks! You're right.

Did you click on the amulet to get the constellation?

Actually yeah, to any mods wandering by, would you please add a line to step k on the first page that once you have the amulet you need to click it to get the constellation? Some people seem to be missing this step.

hmm

It still says those stars don't match any constellations.......and I can't do the steps again....

never mind, I figured that out too, I was joining the box from corner to corner instead of clicking in the middle.

i gave up trying to do random guessing and started a systematic approach. I turned everything to x's or in down position, starting changing one by one, and it wound up being xx xx d, ddu.

Go figure....

That process will take a long time, but it will give you the answer! ;)

The way I did it was just to take it one room at a time. I started on the room on the right, and messed about until everything was as full of water as I could get it. I then moved on to the next room, and muddled some more stuff up. I think (but am unsure whether this is true) that, once you have a barrel or pipe filled with water, it doesn't empty again, so, once you've filled as much in a room as you can, move on. Just keep wandering around, filling stuff up with great joy, until it's finished.

And, if not, you've only got 256 combinations. Even on a dial-up connection that only loads one page a minute, you'd still have it done in... just over four hours. *Gulp*.

It probably doesn't work, but no bombardment of me with rotten vegetables and/or fruit if it doesn't. And, if you spend four hours consecutively searching around the water thing, then either
1) You are very dedicated
2) You have far too much free time
3) You are mental
4) You are a dedicated lunatic with time to spare.

(Delete as appropriate)

i've noticed that you can only drain/change the water in a given room once. then you need to go into one of the two remaining rooms and fiddle with the switches. if you fiddle with the switches until something happens, it seems to unlock or open up the next step in one of the other two rooms.

and when you click on a switch, if it doesn't change, you've completed the drainning of altador. i spent an extra five minutes clicking around, thinking that i'd really messed up somehow because nothing was moving when i clicked it. i finally scrolled down and saw the text saying i'd done it. O_o

Yay, I finally got it. I just randomly clicked around for about 10 minutes. Now, I'm up to date.

I seriously hope we don't have to map the library in some way. Way too confusing.

I cant get to the water control device!!! I did all trice now, (water control entrance, quarry, minotaur room, farm, back to water control...) and NOTHING, I cnat get pass the door. can anybody help me, I dont know what I missed in the process...

edit: nevermind, I got it, still dont know what went wrong, though

[Whispers] Don't say it! They may be listening. [/Whispers]

Anyway, mapping wouldn't be too difficult, as it is a rectangular shaped library, and they surely wouldn't expect us to go thousands of rooms in. That would just be cruel.

Oh dear, now I've done it. Expect to have to go about three thousand rooms right, and six hundred and seventeen rooms up to find a small speck of dust on the floor, which, when mixed in the cooking pot with thirteen Super Attack Peas, reveals the Hunter Constellation.

Note to TNT: The above is a joke.

Oh? I thought people were taken to a different page? You had to scroll down to see text that you had done it? Weird. How far down the page was it? I don't quite understand this last part, but the information before it might help me notice more. I suspected once something changed, to stop in that room and change something in the next, and so on. But how could you spend extra time clicking around if you had solved it? Please explain.

I posted this on the last thread but everyone seemed to have gone to bed by then as i live in a different time zone to most and the theory didnt get much respons so I will repost.

Someone on the Neoboards said there are 13 possible combinations (I know there are actually way more) that are the CORRECT combinations, and each person randomly gets given one of the 13 as the one they have to find.

This kinda makes sense because if it was completley random then you could possible be stuck there for days and days if not weeks trying to figure it out randomly as there are A LOT of combinations that can be used and u may (without even thinking about it) just be going over the same incorrect ones over and over again (ignoring the possible 13 correct ones)

Also there are 12 heros right? and someone said something about tehre being room for an extra person in the book? and also I assume that altador himself would not steal all the history etc. so there must be another person in the plot.. hence the 13th person.. 13 combinations.. 13th person may have casted a spell to make everyone forget tehy even existed too..

Its just a theory based on what the neoboards person said about there being 13 correct combinations for the water place.

In which case if everyone posted the combinations that worked for them, and the 13 correct combinations is a true theory.. we could then figure out what the 13 combinations are and anyone who has not yet figured it out can just go through the 13 combinations to find out which one is their correct one.

umm.. did that make any sense at all? sorry im real bad at explaining things.

and also as i said .. the"13th person thing is just a theory based on the 13 correct answers for the water pump station theory

Too many hours locating pattern...

Tried all wheels in + position, then combo of the levers (all up does flood), then started w/1st wheel in x position, went back to levers to go thru all possibles again. Same, same, with next wheels. Flooded on purpose as wanted a reset, backed out, whined at archivist (lol!), went back in after a break, & just started clicking randomly.

No set wheels were all x's or +'s, only caution was to not have all levers up at one time. Random won in 10 minutes & I got the new page about fixing it. Whew! Also, there was no rhymn or reason to which cisterns or troughs contained (or didn't contain) water.

I'm guessing for you who have gotten it using a pattern, your pattern happened to key the 'random' 'YOU GOT IT'. Good luck to those of you still trying. Take a break, then try again without a preset notion of what you want the water in the rooms to look like. (?) :D
