I'll translate.
She just bought a book called
Pojo's Unofficial Guide to Neopets. (I just looked it up on Amazon.com) It's a Neopets guide (hence the title) with an intro written by Yukio. The second half is dedicated to the Neopets TCG. There are also a bunch of fan pics featured.
I've never even heard of it 'til now. Can't say that I'm inerested though. Maybe I'll leaf through it if I see it at some book store...

For someone new to the forum, this is not a good way of introducing yourself to others, especially to the moderators. I suggest watching your language as well.
As to an explaination, the book they're talking about (
Pojo's Unoffical Guide to Neopets) has an introduction written by our site owner and therefore has a link here. *shurg* You could have gotten it easily from what they said.

Oh, okay. Neopets is programmed pretty fairly, so there really isn't any need for a guide. Plus, the free guides on the net... What is the point of a published guide?

Maybe for the less internet-savvy Neopian newbies or those with really slow internet connections who would rather not juggle more than one site at a time.
Just a guess.
Edit: Unfortunately, it's true that published guides like this one are not very useful because they become obsolete the minute the news is updated or a new TCG deck is released.

The guide came out quite a long time ago and is therefore a bit outdated. It was interesting at the time and can be used to show non-computer savvy parents and grandparents why younglings should have access to the computer to play neopets (yes, there's humor in that)

I've seen that guide before. To be honest I thought it was a bit pointless, because new things happen in Neopia so much that it would be instantly out of date. Plus, as someone already said, there are lots of free guides on the internet.

i know it is a bit out dated...(ok REALLY out dated) but it has some very interesting facts in it! like did you know that when the aisha was created i had a kite on it's tail, but at the last minute it was removed? and also what is cool is that it is the only neopets book besides the magizine! (that i know of any way...) or at least the only neopets book in my area!

Yeah I read it on this site.

oh... well, i just thought it was kind of cool cause i use it for a check list for my tcg, and it has pretty pictures in it... but i guess no one is interested in it , because every one knows about it and says it is useless... poor, poor book

I remember back in the day when it was advertised on PPT - I think it's a nice book to have and remind you that neopets isn't all in your head

At the end of the day, if the book makes you happy, then that's what matters.
By the way, how much did you pay for that book? The interesting news is that it might be collectible. I checked a number of different bookstores online (including Borders, Amazon, Barnes & Nobles), some websites which specialize in rare and out-of-print books (including AbeBooks and Alibris) and even eBay (and Half.com). The results were all the same. There seems to be only one bookstore online with this book, and, though this bookstore's copy is used and in poor condition and the original printed price was $9.95, this bookstore has priced it at over $32.
Sorry, there are two bookstores online with this book. I discussed one above. The other sells this book for over $125.

it was the last one at the borders around my house. they had only gotten about 5 and 4 of them were bought the same day they got them in. and about 2 years later i found it hidden in the science fiction section! and it only cost $14.95!
