Everyone got kicked out of the repository before it got remodeled into its current form. There's no way you could be there now. There's also no way to get into that secret passage on the 2nd floor, since I just tried the back stairwell route and hoped that it work. No dice. Hopefully, a bug report will fix that right up.
Ah. XD I didn't know that. HAven't been following the plot as enthusiastically as in my autumn break. XD

Laalalaa, here's my theory:
For the record, the dimensions of the crystal and the tablet are exactly proportional, to better than one pixel accuracy. So I'm right.
Of course, just making random images isn't the way to do that, we have to wait for them to actually let us do it. *sigh*
P.S.: My sister made me click the symbols in the comic that aren't obscured here. It did nothing, just like I told her it wouldn't. That clear part is just a highlight on the crystal, it's nothing special. The only reason it looks like this is that I'm not brilliant with graphics programs.

Fast forward to 2015
10 years after its beginning the Lost Desert Plot still hasn't been resolved. TNT spokesperson said that Donna and Adam declared, before being reported lost on a field trip in their Mato Grosso countryhouse, that the clues were there and that there were enough of them for the mystery to be resolved.
A few Neopians that were there from the start are still strying to figure out the solutions but the eagerness has now left and bitterness is overpowering them.
Missing :

Alright, so let me ask a stupid question. You can only get one useless crystal, right? There's no way to repeat everything and get more?

I tried changing pets and trying it again but to no avail. So I think you can only do it once. Brings up a question though, what happens if your useless crystal gets stolen by the pant devil, are you out of luck?

No, if it's stolen, or you discard it, go to the chef and he just hands you another one. Which to me just shows that it is important and not so useless.
