GO PORTUGAL!

Yes, I am Portuguese. I'm glad they won. I don't normally follow soccer, or any other sport for that matter, but something about the Euro2004 has swept me up into the world of soccer.

Both teams played well and congratulations to the Portuguese team and all their supporters!

It's soccer we're talking about.
England: Sad, I was hoping they'll get through
Portugal: It's luck by their side again, I don't think it'll last long.
I missed the match, but I'm going to download it.

James?! THE James?! Calamity James?! You have got to be kidding! He is no way an international goalie! I'm fed up of him letting in easy goals! Boot him out the England squad is what I say! He's bloody useless!

France vs. Greece (Tonight)

Will there be another upset for France?
Can France beat Greece with the shock results we had so far in this tounament?

IMO I think France will win against Greece tonight.

Bob wrote:It was a travesty, pure and simple. There was a hint on one or two websites before the start of the competition that this tournament may be fixed. There was even a show about it on British TV. First the Danes and the Swedes draw 2-2, the only score that would have got both teams through and put Italy out, and then this blatant refereeing nightmare tonight.

Interesting enough the Fans in the Italy were so angry about going out Euro 2004 they pelted the Danish consulate in Milan with eggs after Denmark's 2-2 draw against Sweden this past Tuesday.

About the penalty spot at Estadio Da Luz stadium

Daily Express wrote:
Eriksson had asked twice for UEFA to replace the penalty spot at the Estadio Da Luz stadium. David Beckham also complained to the referee Urs Meier after he slipped and missed England first penalty in the penalty shootout.

Eriksson's reponse in the Daily Express newspaper wrote: I complained about it twice before the games we had here. The grass went away from the spot. We were promised there would be more put down.

Can't say I agree much there. He seemed to go the wrong way for every penalty.

As for the penalty spot- both teams had to deal with it. No-one had an advantage. If England had won, they wouldn't be complaining about the penalty spot. Similarly, if the England goal that was disallowed had been a Portugal goal, I'm sure there'd be much less complaint

Honestly, i've had it up to here with self-righteous England fans... it's been a tough day.

So far the score between France vs. Greece is: (and I kid you not)

France 0 Greece 1

Looks like France will go out as there is 4 minutes to go until Full Time.

Edit: Full Time Score:

France 0 Greece 1

France are out.

Wow another shock result.

Once the winning team been announced expect a Euro 2004 Semi-Final topic.
