Does anyone have any tips or strategies? I'm aware of the fact that he heals a lot already ;)

Yeah: Don't lose your cool, nor fall asleep from bordem. I nearly did my first time after him. This time I won't, donna wanna have to go 18 levels for nothing like previously.

Don't panic when he heals continuously. I dunno how you other people beaty him even on normal....but go!

Generally, the higher your level, the easier it is to beat him.
Nox's healing abilities are a bit overrated - even if he did nothing but heal, you can deal more damage than he heals. Just make sure to have your party hasted and him slowed for quicker resolution to your conflict.

What is a good level to leave the starting town on Insane. I am currently level 5 with maxed out healing vials from battles. And I'm thinking about level 6? (all my points are in Damage Increase)

I beat him on normal on the second try, and my level wasn't too high either, about 47 or so. IMO, he doesn't do much damage, it's just the healing which is irritating. Remember to stock fully on slowing/hasting/damage potions, since the battle will last exceedingly long and you'll most likely use up your slwing potions if you don't have enough of them.

I beat him on Normal *and* Evil first try, both times.

It's just a matter of patience.

Ok, should I invest my points for Mispy in Group Haste or Damage Shield? I've used group haste in normal and didn't find it too spectacular, especially since the haste potions gave much higher bonuses. Damage shield, on the other hand, adds a little boost to the damage you do to enemies in the battle, and is more tangible. However, more people seem to be in the favour of group haste.

So which should I choose?

Personally, I prefer Group Haste. It saves time initially when you desperately need to haste but can't afford four turns to haste each member. Though it isn't as much, it does help somewhat.

What ALex said. ALso, even when maxed out, Damage SHields only do 21 damage.

I thought it was 22?

I probably should do some leveling up then. Heh. I'm on my way past Count Von Roo and I'm only on level 40... This is my first Neoquest ever.

But I'm trying SO HARD to get through all three levels of Neoquest II just because I know the items you get at the end will finally help me completely my school gallery. That's not bad is it?

I'm assuming you're on Normal - and you're correct, levelling up will help you a lot in the long run.

I recommend you be at least 45-46 when you get to the Four Faeries, if not higher. I can't recall off the top of my head for the Spider Grundo - I'd say about 43-44ish.

I vote for Damage Shields over Group Haste. Potions haste more than Group Haste does. Yes, it takes an extra turn per character to use them, but because they haste more the characters also get more turns by using them -- I suspect that the 3 extra turns are more than compensated for over the course of the battle (plus the fact that you didn't have to wait for Mipsy's turn to come up to haste, of course.)

Damage Shields is admittedly of somewhat limited use as well... it's mostly helpful against bosses and some of the groups of 4 strong monsters in Faerieland. But then again, the longer the battle and the more often the monsters hit you, the more useful Damage Shields is... right when you need the extra help.

I'm sorry, I meant 22. Typo. Well I still protest Group HAste against Damage Shields.

Group Haste gives you more turns - Damage Shields do only 22 damage even when maxed out, when a monster attacks you. ANd besides, when your opponent does a ranged attack (e.g magic, and that does damage) they don't get the damage shield damage taken.

"Zap" magic (default attack for bosses like Zombom and many monsters) triggers the damage shields as well.

Mipsy also 'zaps'.

Anyway, Insane is going decently so far. I'm going to go up against Zombom soon...any tips?
