Ten Ways to Keep Your Resolutions

  1. Write them down using pen and paper.
  2. Don't make more resolutions than you can cope with. Three is ideal. You can make more if you are the type of person who can keep promises easily. If you find it difficult to stick to a self-promise, even making just one resolution is okay.
  3. Don't make resolutions that you have broken several times before.
  4. Make specific, realistic goals that you can measure your progress.
  5. Make a plan of how to reach these goals. Use little steps to do big things. Stick it in a place you can see everyday.
  6. Make a list of the benefits of keeping these resolutions. Stick this along with your plan.
  7. Form a support network of family and friends who will cheer you on.
  8. Don't think negative - think positive! Instead of scolding yourself when you don't keep your resolution, praise yourself and give rewards when you make progress.
  9. Keep track of your progress - it will make you feel good!
  10. If you find that you've broken your resolution, just start again from where you left off. Every day is a new day, after all.
