Zee Incredibles! A review, o' course!

'The Incredibles' is the new smash hit film that has recently taken most of the world by storm. Based on on a family of superheros who have had to pretend that their secret indenties are..well, secrets.. They are thrown into a whirlwind adventure, discovering the true value of the gifts which we all possess and just how strong they can be when they're put to the test.

Plot

The Plot of 'The Incredibles' is done incredibly well for a children's movie. Brad Bird (the director and writer) created an atomsphere in which you feel that the plot will go one way, but reveals itself in a totally different direction than you would expect. The only problem I had with the movie was that the use of characaters as central themes was not as explored as it could have been. In general, however, the film managed to rapture the audience into every second of it, keeping a mild tone, with plenty of light hearted comedic points throughout. It managed to keep itself flowing, not chopping into different chunks and allows itself to transcend to the general two-part scheme of most movies: find problem, solve problem. 'The Incredibles', although not as good as past Pixar films, kept itself to par with children's entertainment.

Graphics

One of many films which have been totally created with CGI, the movie is a masterpiece and at times seemingly realistic (not the people, but things like water splashing or boards that people hold). The movie applies its artisitic style in a way that is smart and flows throughout the movie. Although, after a while, many people grew tired of the enlongated chins and anatomically-inpossible female physiques in the movie (their heads were three times wider than their waists).

Overall, I feel the movie is for kids, but that parents can have a laugh, too. It deals with the ideals of trust and faith in your partner and that when working together, any team can succeed. Pixar, ultimately, did not exceed the greatness it achieved with it's past success and big box office smasher, 'Finding Nemo', but still managed to do well. So, check out 'The Incredibles' in a theatre far, far, far away from you. :)
