The Segacorn's Jewel: Part 2

Written by: Twizzler0171

The Segacorn's home was a strange sight to Karina. It was the sort of place that pulled and tugged at your memory, as if you remembered it, even though you knew for sure you had never seen anything quite like it in your lifetime.

First there was the Platform. But then, there was always the Platform, it was essential. It was able to lift large amounts of weight for long periods of time, which came in handy when the Clouds filled the sky around the place where they lived. If the Platform was not there, chances were, the whole place would be pulled through.

The 'town' itself was shaped somewhat like a horseshoe. On the outside, there were large buildings. Although Karina couldn't really see them from the angle she was at, she could tell they must have been beautiful. In the center, there were about 20 tents, all neatly placed in a circle. Though plain, they were elegant enough in their own way.

"Well?" Nikarin asked, snorting impatiently. "Let's continue on, then, we're almost there."

"What? Oh. Yes..." Karina said, glancing once more at the sight before her. She followed slowly after Nikarin, staying close by.

As they moved towards the 'town', Segacorn's started to gather around the two, allowing Karina to get a better look at all of them. They came in a multitude of colors, as would be expected. Some, like Nikarin, were a pure white with rainbow-colored horns, while others were pure black, including their horns. But one thing that Karina noticed was that they all had jewels. All the jewels were different, but still, they had one.

"Nikarin!" The shout came from a golden colored Segacorn. He snorted as he neared the two, and glared down at Karina.

"Arron." Nikarin said calmly, looking up at him. "A pleasure to see you here, it's been awhile."

Arron snorted once more, shaking his head. "No time for small talk, Nikarin. Explain yourself, why have you brought an outsider here?"

Nikarin rocked back slightly, looking over at Karina. After awhile, she spoke, her voice soft. "Her name is Karina. You know of her, do you not?"

There was silence for a few moments as Arron pondered the situation. After awhile, he shook his head no. "I know of no Karina, Nikarin. Consider this your first warning, you know better than to bring strangers here!"

Nikarin nodded, looking confused. She made no protest for herself; however, she did have something to say.

"Arron, I do not care what you do with me. Whatever punishment you may have, chances are I deserve it. But please, do not punish the girl. I was the one that made her come here."

Arron looked upon the two gravely.

"You know I have no say in that matter, Nikarin. However much I regret saying this... the girl has to be taken to Council."
