War of Maraqua?

A few weeks ago, all heck broke loose when Neopets sent out an e-mail to a couple hundred Neopians. An exciting advertisement was made about an up-and-coming plot introducing the newest card installment, a juicy plot, and new pet. But, to every Neopian's surprise they also reported--A new WAR.
Neopian Wars used to mean big bucks to a lot of players. The second war in Neopia saw big profits for everyone, earning anywhere between 100 and 1,000,000NP for battlers. The third war, The Battle of Meridell, was the first level-item specific war, where pending on how many points and which side you were on, you received a specific prize. The Fourth War, Battle for Meridell, wasn't all that great, many people felt ripped off because of poor prize quality and a lackluster plot. This last war, the second one to be accompanied by an expansion to the TCG game, fell short of all of our expectations, with a patched up ending and overly predictable plot.
Anywho, when people heard about this new war, it sounded different. Instead of hearing W-OAR, they heard a much scarier, much more expensive word...that word was INFLATION. Within less than a day, Codestone prices were up by 2k a piece and Honey Potions sky rocketed as well.
Yet, as always, people complained and wanted information, unfortunately, the info we received was not anywhere near the info we really wanted. According to the Neopian Times, instead of using the traditional war system, Neopets would be using an edited one, which would not involve weapons as much. Neoptes told us this war, unlike the last ones would be fairer. The other wars had supposedly been uneven because certain people who had put their hard work into making their pets stronger had taken advantage of weaker enemies, beating the first or second waves hundreds of times. I'm not exactly sure what deems them as being unfair for using their strength to defeat enemies, but if Neopets feels that it is unfair, I suppose we, the people, must too.
All we can hope for now is that Neopets really pulls their act together, and that rather than a contrived and rushed plot, this next big happening in Neopia is brought on with clever story and intriguing characters.
