I was actually thinking of saving up and buying a graphics tablet, but seeing as i am completely new to them and have no clue how to really tell the difference between a good one or a bad one.
So does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

I don't own a tablet myself, but I've heard the only good tablet is a Wacom tablet. Notable artists such as Jeph Jacques, author of Questionable Content uses one, as well as many other well-known artists.

Yeah, I highly recommend the Wacom tablet, especially the Intuos. What I like best is that their pens are pressure sensitive (i.e., if you want to draw a thick line, press hard; thin line, press lightly) Find one that fits your needs as well as within your price range. Tablets ARE pricey...

I am also a huge fan on the Wacom Tablet, I own one myself and as said the pressure sensitivity can be most awesome. I have an older one but it still works perfect.

I got a Wacom Graphire 4x5 inch about 4 years ago for $100. It's the most simple one wacom sells, has a few setbacks such as being too small, and not having the actual screen on the tablet ( I believe those cost over $1,000) but as long as I've had it, It does what I need.

I picked up a tiny cheap one for £30, it's alright, but it's nowhere near big enough. If you get a tablet, be sure it's large enough for what you're using it for. Wacoms are rather expensive though, so be careful.
