Stardust. It wasn't awful, but the special effects were overdone and they slaughtered the ending, buried it, dug it back up, and desecrated its corpse. Apart from that and the fact that they tried to make it kid friendly, it wasn't too terrible.

Transformers- Loved it. Giant CGI robots attacking each other (and taking out a ton of buildings in the meantime) with amazing transforming sequences (done on the obligatory giagantic hollywood budgett, we would have settled for nothing less!) and a reasonable plot. Can't realy ask for much more in movies today.

Transformers budget was less than Half of Spiderman 3's.
With luck the sequel will have a full budget.

The Bourne Ultimatum- Aside from the fact that they seem to have tied the camera to a hyperactive puppy, it was quite entertaining. Some of Bourne's innovations were really cool, like

when he taped the flashlight to the rotating fan so it'd look as if someone was hiding behind the doorway.

Not bad for a Matt Damon flick. At least Ben Affleck wasn't in it.

The Sixth Sense, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't known in advance the spoiler at the end. Still a good movie, though.

Also, Dead Man's Chest, for the sixth or seventh time. It was, and always will be, Mackenzie-Crook-a-licious. Um, and the plot was good too.

I usually avoid the Disney channel like I avoid salmonella, but my sister had it on and I'd heard so much about High School Musical that I decided to watch it. Dear *God* was it awful! The script was written by a gaggle of 45-year-old men who have no recollection of what high school was really like. The songs were like a paint-by-numbers version of music, and don't get me started on the lyrics! It's as if they copied and pasted a bunch of smarmy, patronizing rhymes from various crappy songs and melded them together to form a Ballad of Doom. The acting was just as bad as you'd expect from a made for TV Disney movie starring teenagers who look like they've received Botox injections. None of the actors seemed even remotely enthused. I think by now, after having worked at Disney for so long, they've just learned to go through the motions.

I know loads of people love this movie, but I can't for the life of me even begin to comprehend why. And I like musicals. I tried to enjoy it. I really did. This was just so godawful that I couldn't even wrap my brain around it.
