Very rarely do I find it necessary to bring this sort of thing up publicly... but rest assured that this sort of bickering is not acceptable here. We have a no flaming policy. Flaming is, as noted in the rules, insulting or attacking another person. We're now going to review these guidelines (note that this is, while partially paraphrased, coming directly from the forum rules here). You do not have to agree with every other member of PPT, and you do not have to like every other member of PPT. You do, however, have to respect every other member. If at any point you think what a member is saying may be out of line, you should contact a moderator and have them look into it for you. If somebody flames you, do not retaliate.
Now that we've had a review session, I want to make it perfectly clear that I'm not at all happy about what's been going on tonight. If you feel you have been insulted in ANY way, you should contact a moderator. That's it. You should not respond to it, and you should not address it publicly -- this includes announcing that you have reported someone to a moderator or bringing up the contents of a private message publicly. If you feel that a PM is inappropriate, again, contact a moderator. If you think that a thread has gone too far off-topic or contains flaming or other inappropriate behavior, contact a moderator. I understand that many people have been frustrated. I understand that people want to stand up for themselves. But this is not the way to do it. I'm making this a public statement because I want everyone to understand that this isn't acceptable. Please also be aware that I am not targeting anyone in making these statements; I simply want to make it clear to everyone that I expect to never see anything like this here again. Anyone with any questions or comments is free and welcome to send me a private message, and I'll be perfectly happy to respond to any and all concerns or questions you might have.
