I got an idea from playing Neopets a while back too, and was considering writing it and submitting it to the NT.

Then I realized that something involving assassination, blackmail, and political intrigue was probably not the best thing for a children's site, so I started it with my own characters. :P

(Oh, and I don't watch anime or play video games, so that won't help too much. ;) )

Oh... well, I was only half paying attention to the video game at the time... but it wasn't something like Mario with all that jumping around; it was a role-playing.

I agree with Piers Anthony and Mercedes Lackey. there is no such thing as writer's block. If you have an opinion if you can think ... then you can write! You have to have that attitude in the fore!

I'm guessing you've never had a severe case of it then.
Believe me, when you do, you'll know. ;)

Oh, gosh, I know how you feel. I get writer's block all the time... I'm stuck in one right now and can't do the hint I'm about to give you because I can't find the papers... ack!

Go back through, and read the story. Yes, I know you wrote it, and you know what its about. But that's not why I'm suggesting this to you. I find this often helps remind me of things I was planning to do. I'm serious, it does. I'll keep thinking while you try this out, kay?

Thanks for the tips. ;) This story is taking a while; probably because it's because I only get half an hour online at weekdays before my mom comes home and kicks me off. :'(

To see my work, you can click my website, like it says on my siggy. I'm working on NeoQuest Adventures right now.

i think i've got the worst writer's block ever!

let's see...

i've got a nice vague plot that cannot proceed beyond chapter 1...

i've stopped writing for a year already...

been trying to find inspiration but always fail...

my dreams just can't stay permanent...

Writer's block at its worst... right now. College application essays. *cringe*
I haven't written an essay in about a month... which means I have to write three essays in the next three days.
I even wrote up an outline, but I can't get it to flow.
Ideas?

Read a book, especially one that you've read before and actually think about what you're reading. Also, people watching is cool, you should try it.

Urgh, I've got writer's block at the moment. It's not severe but it's frustrating. My advice is to just give up. I mean it. Inspiration comes from the unlikeliest of places. Mind you, I only write when I'm depressed...

I get short spurts of it all the time. I find it often comes from to much...like the paper I'm writting now. I've been writting and writtting and I can't write anymore. Once I get some food and a chance to recoperate, I'll probley be fine.

Thats for little writters blocks...

As for things like Starchaser, I can't do much. Wait till something inspires you. Pay attention in History. You can get a lot of ideas from there.

But, I get inspired by totaly unrealated things. A screenplay I want to write about a town that has mythical machines and is controlled by the robot company with a 7th grade filmmaker in the lead and her oddball friends as a cast was inspired by a They Might Be Giants song.
(Yeah for run-on sentences!)

I even have a story inspired by a bad roleplay!
(Ironic that I now have fallen into a plot hole!)

Just wait for it. Start a journal and skim over it on a regular basis. (Conversations and situations can come out of it!). Travel around your state. I get tons of ideas from long road trips... Study mytholigy. Tons of books and games are based off it! Listen to all kinds of music. Listen to your friends music.

Read. Read about everything that remotly interests you. A very interesting charater has come out of a research paper I'm doing(The paper has caused a lot of pain...Never mind that, though)

Ask someone where they think the sotry should go. Have them write it down. Do it with lots of people. See all there ideas and see if any work!

And, don't push yourself... You don't have to write. Try and pick a few more hobbies. They might also inspire you!
(Drawing is fun.. and inspiring!)

Er...yeah.

I would give you my favorite quote on writters block, but it is not PinkPT approit. See "You can't take it with you" for some funny conversations on the matter.

Hm. I've had writer's block for the past several months now- it's not fun. The only thing I can suggest to do is to write ANYTHING. Jibberish, even. Just try to write something, no matter how bad it could seem. It doesn't need to be a work of art. Just start forcing yourself to write, and eventually you might loosen up.

Whenever I have "The Block with a Capital B" as a I call it, I look through magazines. I find a picture of a person and I'll just write a page or two of who I think they are, and what I think they're doing. Then I rip that out, and start a new one. This time I write the craziest thing I can think of. Instead of it being some girl waiting for her boyfriend in the park, it's a secret agent who is ready to mug a little girl who is bugged by some robocop. ^_^ I don't know why, but it seems to help. :P
