I just made a quickie version of corn and potato chowder using condensed cream of broccoli soup, milk, small can of cream style corn, canned potatoes, maple-smoked bacon, half an onion, and salt and pepper. And holy cow...it tastes pretty close to homemade!

I can be creative when I need to come up with something quick, lol.

The girls had their school Halloween dances, so it was a very busy night. I had a quick dinner of two double cheeseburgers and a small fry from McDonald's. :)

Our dinner on Saturday was *so* good. <3 We went to a wedding for Tim's friend. There was *so* much food.

First there was a table with hors d'oeuvres. It was covered in many kinds of cheese, crackers, fruits, marinated artichoke, vinegar mushrooms, and something we couldn't figure out. It had apples and almonds on the top, then a layer of cheese, and the bottom was like eggs and cheese. I'd say it was some type of quiche, but I'm really not sure. lol In that same room, there were servers walking around offering trays of fancy food to people. The server food I can remember was: scallops wrapped in bacon, asparagus wrapped in ham, little sandwiches, salmon on a stick, chicken parmesan on a stick, stuffed clams, stuffed mushrooms, and some weird toast thing with cheese, mushrooms, and a big brown thing on it. There were a couple other things, but we missed those servers, so I don't know what exactly they were. All the food was so good, though, especially the scallop wrapped in bacon. <3 I was very full just from all the appetizers. haha

Then we went into the other room for dinner. There was really good bread on the table. It was so good, I didn't even put butter on it. :) We also had greek salads. For the dinner, I got the chicken marsala which had rice pilaf and diced squash as sides. Tim had the peppercorn-crusted beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and some green vegetable that looked like asparagus, but wasn't, on the side. We tried each others' and it was all very good. :)

Finally was the cake. We were so excited to try it because everything else was fantastic. It was not so good, though. :/ Well, the actual cake part was good. It was chocolate cake with layers of cake>frosting>cake>frosting, etc. The frosting was the problem. There were two kinds. One was a rich, very sweet chocolate. The other was a creamy coffee flavor. :/ They were good if you only had a small bit, but it got too much fast.

Ah, well. Everything can't be perfect. haha All in all, it was one of the best wedding receptions ever and I strongly recommend that if someone is going to have a big party, they have food servers walk around with tasties on trays. That was a lot of fun. <3

Then on Sunday we had spaghetti with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. ^.^

That sounds so cool, Katherine. :)

We had pork chops, pork-flavored stuffing, and corn pudding. I found the recipe for corn pudding online the other day when I was looking up Halloween things and it sounded interesting. It was pretty good! It was like sweet, mushy cornness. Gwen liked it so much she had 4-5 servings. She would have had more, but she had to go to bed. XD
