One of my cats was named Meow. He was a stray. Our screen door was open (due to workmen doing something or another). He came inside, ran up the stairs, went straight to the food bowl (I had three other cats at the time), ate it all up, and then proceeded to meow at us. The loudest meow and purr I'd ever heard. So, we figured it was an appropriate name. He was a great cat. Taught my other cats all sorts of bad tricks, though. Little scamp. ;)
