I've noticed lately that I have no interest in anything going on in Neopets any more. Yeah.. Advent Calendar, the new plot.. none of it drags me to my keyboard anymore and onto Neopets.
I've got other games and things that seem to take up the time and attention that Neopets used to get, and they have much better customer service to boot. Of course, I don't think it would be just Neopets.. I've been looking into other "pet" sites and seem to show the same amount of interest in them as I do in a rock, nice to look at, but I really don't want to play.
So, for a couple of weeks, I'm not going ot DO anything with Neopets. Heck, I haven't been anyway. If after that couple of weeks, I still down't have the desire, I'm going to leave Neopets. Right now.. the joy of it is gone.
I'm glad I did play it in the past, because it was something that met a few of my RL needs (I'm a packrat with no room to collect things.) And yes, it was REALLY fun until my first account got frozen and then still somewhat fun and highly addictive with my second one. *shrug* Just now is seems more than a wee bit pointless and as I said, I've found other things to take up the time that I used to spend on Neopets.

The same thing happened to me when I used to create and maintain my own web pages. It took a lot of effort but gave me a lot of pride. I finally got bored with it. Cleaning out your web habits can be as liberating as doing a clean sweep in real life!

I hope you have no regrets!

My advice: Go away for a year, come back after that, and you'll be fresh for more Neopetting! :D

... that is if after that one year Neopets hasn't become pay-to-play though.

You might be happy to come back to an account with junk in the SDB!

I'm losing interest in Neopet quickly. I only go on for the news, that's it. No games. No guild. No chatting. Nothing.

Heh,
When they iced my account "Lilnateman8" I never turned back. Thats when i quit neopets for good. Yes its very possible. Its actually very easy to do :). Well you want to know why i really quit? I worked very hard to get my shop size to 455 for 5months straight. Then bang when i started averaging around 250k from my mall. I was iced for "scamming" Which is a lie ._. So im never going back to neo again. Mind you this was a couple months ago >.<

I had originally quit Neopets for a full year but I came back again and am playing daily with my new account. I tend to use Neo as a way to relax and occupy myself. I tend to do my coursework while playing Neo as a buffer - the world is not nice, and as a Forensic Technologies major I get to see just how ugly it can get with autopsy reports and such. :/ Neo is very light hearted and it's a nice way to detract some of the ugliness from my attention.

Many of my friends have stopped playing Neo due to there being no time for them to play with work, college and just not being online at all. I end up inheriting their old accounts and all of their stuff. o.o

I did the news the last two days.. and *shrug* just going, "You know this isn't fun any more." Besides, I have my mush, City of Heroes and Real Life.. Okay, the last one is pretty much just mostly tending to toddler ails, but hey, I love the little rugrat! But thanks for all your warm wishes!

I think some of use need to find the line between reality and fiction. Neopets is just a game. Just like monopoly, cards, and what not. I find that Neopets is a very addicting place. Just like alcohol, cigerettes, and any other addictive thing. While the side-affects may not be as bad physicaly, but if you spend your life on the computer, this is NOT a good thing. I would advise anyone who is spending more time on Neopets then with their family to turn off the computer and go and visit with your family NOW!! There is no reason why Neopets should be taking over your life. :)

SO many saying they are or ahve given up neopets ... so why are they talking here? I guess talking about Neopets is still allowed.
