Now, I haven't done a lot of art during the years, nor do I claim to know everything about it. I entered a quiggle (seen here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/ ... 0123ea.jpg ) into the art gallery a long time ago about 3 times and never got in. But I still always look at the art gallery. But my question would have to be...who the heck is JUDGING this now?!
Maybe I'm a little bit critical, but I didn't think taking a Neopets image and putting angry eyebrows on Armin was concidered art. This bothers me a lot...and it honestly makes me scared to enter. At this point I almost think, why waste my time?

Uggh, I saw that entry too. It's a freaking C&P. And it's not even a good one. It's terrible enough when they win the beauty contest, but... the ART GALLERY?! It almost makes me want to vomit in disgust. Why does crap like this get in all the time?!
In case you were wondering, I have a very strong dislike for copy and pastes. I just can't smile and walk it off when I enter the BC with a picture I worked on for days, and I lose to a red Shoyru with a crappily-drawn T-shirt on. And it's even worse when people strut around the BC chat saying "HEY VOTE 4 MY DRAWIN I WORKED HARD ON IT LOL" when it's an ugly C&P. If you have to work hard on a C&P, then you can't draw and you'll never win the BC.
Okay, I'm done ranting.
I know what you mean, I had entered my faerie queen images (not the best but good) and they didnt win for the faerie festival, and there were some really crappy ones, and it only makes you feel bad...

I understand that. But there's a big difference between taking images and backgrounds out and putting new things on them and taking an already completely picture and putting angry eyebrows on it.

True. I see some pretty crappy images with pets clothes drawn on them.
The problem is not that the pets image was already drawn, but that the image is usually in flouresnt magenta and covered in over use of the spray paint tool.

Whoa, that's one bad copy paste... Can't really figure why they took it in.
I'm not good at drawing myself, but at least I am trying to train my skills at computer drawing... I ain't improving that fast, but I still train and don't just send a copy paste in...
(By the way, is computer drawing easier to train than normal? Because I'm...crap at plain drawing...)
Set by myself. Yes, it has pixel errors. Yes, I am a newbie at Photoshop.
You know...the more I look at the Armin in that photo the more sense it makes. Look at how sketchy the lines on him are...Almost look like they were erased alittle to make it look as if it was drawn. I think a new member to TNT put it in, falling for the artists trick.

To me it looks like it was resized in Paint, making it look pixelly.
Wow, it makes you wonder if the judges for the Art Gallery actually look at some of those pictures that get in. It's either that or they don't look at some of the Neopets artwork on the site.
You know, I think what they did with Armin is sort of funny-- adding that silly thick monobrow and frown, and putting a sword in place of the bowl of soup that he would have been holding

Then why is ONLY armin pixely?
