Because it's that kidzbop stuff that means most of the next generation won't know any of the traditional kid's songs or any of the folk songs that children used to learn. It's a cultural black hole and it's doing nothing but insuring that the kiddies will grow up to buy lots and lots of bad manufactured pop music from the music industry. Like boybands don't sell enough already!! :x

Of course Neopets has never had much in the way of scruples when it comes to advertising junky stuff like mcdonalds and sugary soda pop to kids (who in both the US and UK have a growing problem with obesity), so why not the audio version of "junk food" as well?

Blah.

On a completely unrelated note, I do want one of those robo-petpets! The green-eyed wormy reminds me of something but I can't think of what. Something from a comic book I saw once. Probably an X-Men comic, I used to read those in high school.

...boy bands are still around? o_o

Dang, that's creepy looking. It reminds me of something off a movie, but I can't remember what... The propellor on the Peadackle was a nice touch.

Kidz Bop is disgusting, I know, but remember, kids have awful taste. The target audience also will eat candy until it makes them sick, hold burping contests, pick their noses, and put stickers and sparkles all over their stuff. We were all there once...just thank whichever deity you follow that you're out of it now.

To go back on topic: I really like the robot lyins. I agree, though, it seems like a reference to some movie...but I can't remember what. Matrix? Pitch Black? Alien? Predator?

Image <--Oddly, cuter than normal lyins.

Hmm....It reminds me of the kraata from the Rahkshi Bionicle expansion. -must get one!-

...What's REALLY pathetic is that I'm more into Bionicles than my 8-year-old brother is.

They'll make more of them, just give them about five years or so and the next batch will be out...

"Kidz Bop", which is advertized like crazy in america, is just a series of CD's where popular rock, pop, and hip-hop songs are edited for content and sung by children. Lyrics about sex, drugs and violence become lyrics about lollipops and hugs and duckies with an irritating child chorus. It's so all the soccer moms can buy whatever "hip" music their kids demand in a nice, safe, heavily censored format. Because this caters to a specific, alternative audience and could be considered a "public service", they're actually allowed to do it WITHOUT asking the original artists (though I'm pretty sure they do. Usually.)

Sadly, it sells and it sells WELL. They're now a frighteningly powerful entity.

duckies are in no way childlike and should never EVER be mentioned when talking about the stupid kids bop CDs. thank you, that will be all. *walks away*

Robot petpets from Jellyneo.net :)

The robot Darpinch reminds me of a typewriter. These robot pets rule!!!

Oooh. This has to be one of the best batches of Robot Petpets ever. Pity I don't own a single one of those Petpets... nor could I afford the paintbrush

Anyway, the Robot Darpinch reminds of an infinitely better version of the normal Diddler (and yea, I realise the Diddler is a slot machine rather than a typewriter). Maybe we should petition TNT to drop the Diddler and just stick with the Robot Darpinch instead?

But they are G-rated.

Except when they aren't.

Let's not talk about those duckies.

Guys, this thread isn't about ducks or about boybands. If you want to discuss the evils of either of the above, take it somewhere else.

True, but you and the pictures posted above just gave me an idea :D If TNT made a rubber pb, we could have a rubber duck version of a Pteri! And a rubber sqeaky Poogle (pink, of course!).
