I see no pattern either. All different levels, tournaments, board placement.

One thing I am hearing consistently from those who have it is that they lost very few rounds.

When I got it, I used a guide that gave a strategy that worked virtually every time. After I won the last round of that match, I got the avvie.

And since I didn't get a single response earlier, I'll ask again...

I bought a Haunted Weaponry item (Spider on a String). I equipped it to my pet, but I didn't get the avatar. Is there something I'm missing? Has it been retired?

I don't suppose you have a link to the guide?

The spider should have worked. Check your chat preferences to be sure you didn't miss it. If it's not there, try unequipping and re-equipping is all I can suggest.

On my old account I couldn't get the Cell block avatar but I could play and gain past the daily limit. On my new account I have the avatar but I get cut off at the 5k a day limit. I got told a few others had that problem as well lol

No, it is definitely not there in the list. That was the first thing I checked. I've also tried equipping and unequipping it three times already.

How odd, I used this EXACT item to get the avatar so it SHOULD work for you too. Report it to TNT as a bug? It could be.

I just tried it with my Spider on a String (I wasn't aware that the avvie existed, thanks! ^^;) and it worked. =o I think it is a glitch on your side of Neopets.

I got my avatar winning level 5, tournament 12, after losing about a gazillion times to every challenger before him and losing to him a couple times. Tourney 12 is hard. That's all I can remember though :/

I got my Cellblock avatar by losing the 1st game of the 1st level of the 12th tournament. I got the avatar straight after it was released so it was that long ago that I don't really know what I would have done with my pieces.
