The point of this oekaki is to have a place to draw and get feedback on your pictures, which can thus be used to help you improve your drawing skills. PinkPT's normal oekaki accepts users of all skill levels, whether they are beginners or experienced artists. As long as you stick to the rules then it's fine. However it is suggested that beginners start at the
sketch oekaki, just until they get the hang of the tools and whatnot. Those that feel that they are at an advanced level can also try out at our
advanced oekaki.
Any picture or comments deemed by an admin to be breaking the rules may well be deleted, no questions asked. Alternatively an admin may contact you to discuss the issue. Anyone caught repeatedly breaking the rules may have their rights removed and their account suspended. You have been warned.
The rules for the normal oekaki are as follows:-
1. No spamming. If your picture doesn't look like much effort has gone into it, or if it is messy or consists of squiggles and doodles (etc.) then it may be deemed by an admin as being 'spam', and it will be deleted. Remember that the sketch oekaki is where you should be doodling and generally messing around. By spamming you are pushing other people's artwork off the front page that they have put a lot of effort into. Whether a picture looks like 'spam' is up to the admin's judgement.
2. All pictures should take a minimum of 20 minutes. Anything below this time will automatically be deleted, unless of particularly high quality. Put some time and quality into your work - It's worth it.
3. If you have not finished your picture but still want to submit it before it's completed, please include the words 'safety save' or the abbreviation S.S. on your picture or in your comment/title. (Secret safety saving is an alternative to this. Omail Gfaerie to ask how to SSS)
4. All safety saves must be over 10 minutes. Anything under will be deleted. Afterall, if you only spent less than 10 minutes on a picture was it really worth sending? It is likely that it could be easily recreated.
5. Be nice to your fellow users, and remember, C&C doesn't mean 'attack the picture/user'. When critting provide useful suggestions on how to amend any problems or mistakes, and remember to respect other people's art like you want yours respected.
6. No rude or offensive pictures featuring mature content. Artistic or tasteful nudity may be tolerated depending on the circumstances, but should always be adulted.
7. Try to keep bad language to a minimum, please! An admin has the right to change or delete any offensive content in a user's comments as they see fit.
8. Do not post more than two pictures in a row. If you draw more, then the one that looks to have the least effort put into it will be deleted.
9. Do not start a picture without finishing the last one you started. If you do we will delete it - by posting more pictures art is being bumped off the page quicker, and has less time to be commented on. Secret safety saves are not included in this rule.
10. If you finish a picture/safety save but it's been bumped off the front page before people can see the final version, then contact an admin to ask for your artwork to be bumped. Make sure to tell us the picture's title!
11. Do not post the following on this board - avatars, 'art block' pictures and rant pictures. Please post these images on the sketch board instead. Please understand that these can clutter up the board and bump good artwork down the page.
12. If your computer messed up when you were trying to submit a picture, and you were smart enough to take a screenshot of the image, then an admin can upload the image back onto the oekaki for you. Just contact them and ask nicely. ;P Just make sure it's in .png format first, and that you tell us what applet to put it into.
Other Guidelines and important things to note:
- Feel free to have contests anytime you like! Just don't forget to post your rules, prizes and deadline in your comments. Please make sure that any announcements you make concerning your contest are actual pictures, and not just meaningless scribbles and text though.
- No tryouts are required to join this oekaki - you can start drawing as soon as you join.
- Your picture may be made into a thumbnail or adulted if it is quite large or unfinished.
If you're having problems in any way with the oekaki iteself or with a specific user please contact an admin via omail, or alternatively by email. If you're going to email an admin PLEASE include your account name and email IN THE MESSAGE, thanks.
