On most browsers, you will see a "Browse..." button, which will bring up your operating system's standard file open dialog. Choosing a file will fill the name of that file into the text field next to the button. You must also check the box affirming that you are not violating any copyrights by uploading the file. This is the interface for uploading new images to the NeoDex to illustrate articles. Before you do so, check that one of these three things are true:

  1. The image comes from the Neopets servers.
Most often, images uploaded here come from Neopets itself. Under the Neopets T&C it is permitted to use these images as long as the copyright notice is maintained - this notice can be found in our disclaimer linked to at the bottom of every page.
  2. You've made the image and are agreeing to release it to the NeoDex to use.
This might include graphs, photographs, or screenshots. Things like screenshots of the Neopets site or art featuring Neopets characters are also under Neopets' copyright (see above).
  3. Someone else made the image but you have permission to use it here.

Be sure to give your image a clear file name and explain what it is in the summary. Include where you've got the image (this is normally the image.neopets.com URL). For addresses on the Neopets image server, don't put the http:// in the URL or the image will be automatically pulled from the server. For other locations, you need to put the URL in <nowiki></nowiki> tags.

Don't worry if you try to upload an image that we already have, the software will automatically stop you and give you the current image's file name.

See Help:Images for information on how to put images on pages, and NeoDex:Image use policy for an overview of uploading images. A list of all the uploaded files can be seen be seen here, or at the upload log, or at the gallery of new files. Please note that as with pages on the NeoDex, others may edit or delete your uploads if they think it serves the project, and you may be blocked from uploading if you abuse the system.
