Has everyone else who's using dial-up been having problems?

I use dial-up and have had no problems loading the new map.
I also use dialup and haven't had any problems, in fact as I stated earlier this map actually loads quicker for me than the old html based one.

Exactly what's bothering me... those two seem to have changed places, when you're in meridell, then meridell castle is on the west side and brightvale on the east side, on the explore map it's the other way round...
As for the rest of the map, it's not bad, but I really don't like the way it has been drawn, it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the drawings on neopets...

I have cable internet, and it still takes a bit to load for me.

Faerieland is really really bothering me...
...didn't these artists ever learn perspective ><
I can't complain much tho, it took me forever to draw things in different views anyways (we had to for my graphic art class...we ended up designing a toy and having to draw 3 views and create a clay figurine). Not easy! Interesting map, tho.

Thanks for the Lutari Island image. It does look pretty neat.
Im glad they kept the quick links under the map too, but it doesnt have Altador, Geraptiku, Lutari Island, or some of the other separates that the actual map has. Its not a big deal, it just means that I have to do the same amount of clicking as before, as opposed to being able to use the new map and get there right away.
The Space Station is my favorite part of the new map. It looks so ominous and creepy. I wish they'd update the inside of it to match. Even though its supposedly turned into an 'amusement arcade,' the architecture should be a bit more evil than a circular room in some dull colors and vaguely futuristic decor.

Geraptiku still isn't actually accessaible from the main map I believe...

However, when you are in brightvale, for some reason you exit to the east to go back to merridell. That's always bothered me.

Ah, I wouldnt know, I cant turn my map to see

The other mini worlds and offshoots like Brightvale were, so I assumed Geraptiku would be also. Either way, I hope they add to the links under the map to include everything clickable on the map. Then I wont have any real reason to be whiny.

If you read the description above the Brightvale map it says it's '50 miles west of Meridell'- so I guess in the Meridell map you're looking south rather than north (or there's a hairpin bend in the road to Brightvale...).

I'm so excited. Finally we get to see the whole world. Now we just need a neo heven and neo hadies.

On the debate about the positioning of Meridell and Brightvale, I guess it's just a mistake. But it could be that you view it from different sides. Like, you can see on the main explore map that Terror Mountain is (broadly speaking) to the north, but maybe, when you enter Meridell, you enter it with Terror Mountain to the south, making Meridell and Brightvale in the right place. And, after your 50 mile stroll east, you enter Brightvale again with Terror Mountain to the north.
There is probably a much simpler way of putting it, but I'm not going to use it.

Ehh... Terror Mountain is the north pole of Neopia, it can
never be 'to the south'. Brightvale is supposed to be to the west of Meridell- it says so
here. The new explore map is accurate, it's just that the Meridell map is a little confusing as it is apparently facing south. The moutain visible on the Meridell map is almost certainly not Terror Mountain- the distance between them is probably about as far as between Britain and the North Pole, and I certainly can't see the North Pole or any of the mountains around it from here.

I think when he says Terror Mountain is 'to the south' he means downwards. When you view the Meridell map, Terror Mountain would be off the bottom of the page.

That is what I meant. I knew that there was a better way of explaining it!

That is true, but, considering the potential height of Terror Mountain, and that the North Pole is a bit flatter than it, probably, then it is possible.
And I also guess that Neopia is smaller than Earth. One page on the Internet, for a start!

As much as I'd like that, I'm afraid it would bring up too many "religious" problems

I imagine parents storming the site after "demonic" pets come up... Raaargh...

hmmm...if the halloween and darigan pets haven't already done that...I don't know how much difference that would make. Especially if there was a defined good and evil. I like how the map shows many places for potential new places! Yayness!
