Just a lil warning...

Not to burst anybody's bubble... but isn't changing your country so you can collect a daily giveaway, or bypassing the "Oops! It looks like the McDonald's Daily Giveaway is over." page by using the process_dailyprize.phtml page considered cheating?

It's probably minor enough, but if enough people do it, you could all potentially get frozen for having an 'unfair advantage'. Yes, even though Aussies are technically the ones who -do- have the advantage; you can try explaining that to a freeze-happy-bot.

As stated further down the thread try the direct process link:
http://www.neopets.com/happymeal/proces ... rize.phtml

If that doesn't work we are unsure of what to do as we are having trouble working out exactly why some people can get it and some people can't. The already participated in a Daily Giveaway theory looked good until jess1 said she's taken part in both of them. Hmmm... I suppose we'll have to keep brain-storming!

My hypothesis:

It works on day x this time if, and only if, you didn't go (with that account) on day x of the original promotion. That would explain why some have reported it working one day though it didn't the prior day.

So if you went (on the same account) last time, you still can now . . . but only if you missed one or more days the first time, and only on those days that "match," or correlate to, those that you missed.

Now, whether the matches are straight across or not (Day 1 to Day 1, etc.), I don't know.

Are the prizes for each day the same this time around? I originally kept a running list of the daily giveaways, but since a help site had it posted I didn't continue with mine.

I'm as certain as my failing memory will allow me to be that I didn't miss any days, so it's rather moot for me.

Sounds like that could indeed be the logic behind it, it makes plenty of sense!

I think this is true...I cannot get prizes from my old account, but when I try my sub account, I could! :)

I was just reading through posts on this, and read your post, Jirachi and also vivian's.

To be honest, I'm with vivian ... I think that could be considered cheating, and really it's not worth it in the least. Just a plushie and a few np ...

Jirachi, that giveaway, I believe, is like the other freebies/dailies - only to be done on one account - your main one. Otherwise, you could be frozen for "multy account" misuse.

Sure it would be nice if everyone could participate every day in this one, since I think? everyone on the site was able to in the first one, and in a very small way it's not entirely fair if some people get a giveaway twice. But it's also not fair to use a link to get something you're not supposed to.

Just my 2 cents ...

This seems to be false, as I've been unable to collect anything, despite having only collected once or twice on my account the previous time.

Hmm. Did you go by this link?
http://www.neopets.com/happymeal/proces ... rize.phtml
And via that link on enough days to make sure you weren't chancing on the one or two matches?

If so, that looks like the end of my hypothesis. (If not, are you up to trying that route?)

Val -- if the giveaways are the same, and if it works, then I would expect so . . . but since we still don't know for sure how it's working, um, I dunno. (How's that for helpful?)

I only collected, as I said, 2 times max from the last giveaway, and it was towards the end. I've certainly been more than a few times to try this time around. And I did try the process link, simply because the proper giveaway link isn't even there for me..

No I haven't!
I've not been able to collect any of the plushies from this giveaway.
I'm in the UK

Why can't they have a giveaway for UK people only for a change, and maybe an avie that only us UK people can get

Ah well. As so often happens, a beautiful hypothesis is demolished by an ugly little fact. Sorry you weren't able to get the goodies, Q.

October 10th, I clicked the link and I got a green jubjub plushie and some neopoints.

I did participate in the giveaway, but missed a few days - among them the day of the plushie nova avatar. :(
