 Post subject: I just got frozen, need to know what I did wrong

I recently got frozen for cheating in flash games, which I wasn't to the best of my knowledge. There's only two possible things that might have caused it: I got a perfect score (all perfect rings and a perfect bullseye) on the second level of Mootix Drop on medium (It was after this that they were reviewing my score). My mom plays Sutek's Tomb on my account during her lunch hour (She gets 1000 NP per game :D), and that might be a problem, but I don't recall seeing anything in the rules saying you couldn't have two people playing.

I'm sorry about your account but you should really be asking questions like these before doing something, not after you are iced. You could have been frozen for different reasons but it is against Neopets rules to share an account. Also, if 2 people are logged into a single account at the same time that can trigger it. There are other possibilities but you might as well write TNT. No need to speculate because there are a few possibilities.

Hmm, didn't see anything there about sharing accounts, but oh well. I didn't ask beforehand, as obviously I had no idea I was doing something wrong. I've already sent in an unfreezing form, did that the moment I found out. Oh well, might as well close this topic.

Where does it say that it is against Neopet rules to share an account? I have found nothing in writing about this. And, my daughter and I have shared a gallery account for 2 years and no one has said boo about it. In fact, when my daughter's main account was frozen last December, I wrote an email in which I stated all of the accounts in our IP address--so TNT has been made aware of the shared account. My daughter's main account was unfrozen a day later--and yet, no one has ever questioned our shared gallery account. Perhaps, you could point out the place where this is stated in the rules, dogfriend?

This was in the Neopian Times or the News not tooo long ago. If you will take a look at the terms and conditions it NO LONGER says you share accounts at your own risk. I understand why you haven't had a problem. I was going to write more, but I will refrain from doing so probably for some of the same reasons TNT can't spell EVERYTHING out in the rules. I won't be answering many more questions about the rules here. I will let a TNT staff member or a PPT mod answer them.

Regardless I don't think that sharing accounts is what garnered the player a "Cheating at flash games" error. I don't think mootix drop has that kind of perfect score roll over error either though. Perhaps someone who has a lot of experince at the game can tell you.

Are there any other game that you play regularly that could be affected?

I'm not about to speak for TNT but from where I sit it looks virtually impossible for TNT to spell everything out. Once you understand the rules very thoroughly I expect you will come to the same conclusion. There are just too many possible scenerios which can affect the answer for TNT to list everything. So if you have a specific question, mail them if you can't find the answer anywhere elsewhere.
Questions like can i have more than 1 account. The answer is yes but with restrictions. Can I move items, neopoints from account to account? The answer could be yes or NO depending on from which account to which account and how you are doing it. What can I currently do on secondary accounts, etc.? These questions and many others have been answered but when people who actually know the rules post something and then 10 other people post on the board saying they are wrong, guess what happens. Many people follow the majority and the freezing begings. Then you get to hear I was unfairly frozen.
Take a look at a few boards here and you will see what I mean.

Urthdigger, my husband's account was frozen for cheating at flash games last year after sending a score of 107 for Grundo's Snowthrow. Around the same time, there were many, many others who also got frozen for supposedly cheating at flash games. Apparently, it was a glitch in the system Neo uses to determine whether someone is using an automated program.

I know that my husband didn't cheat and wouldn't even know how to cheat at that game. And, for a score of 107--highly doubtful. And, my guess is that most or all of those frozen for the same reason during that time period were also innocent victims--of a computer glitch. Luckily, my husband got his account back after he wrote a snail mail to the corporate headquarters.

The biggest gold trophy holder in Neopia also just got frozen for allegedly cheating at flash games--he is a good friend of mine and I am 99.99% sure he didn't cheat. He had been frozen about two weeks ago for the same reason. And, unfrozen less than a day later after he emailed a certain staffmember about it. Hopefully, he will be unfrozen, once again.

I have also heard of others getting frozen for cheating at flash games recently. So, I suspect, that once again, Neo has a glitch in the program they use to catch people using automated programs. My guess is that your perfect score set it off--I highly doubt that your mom playing one game every day during her lunch hour is the reason.

So, I suggest that you send staff members an email about the problem and not wait for a reply to the frozen report that you sent in. I, and others, have found emails to work quite well.

Some advice that I found worked in getting both my husband's and daughter's account unfrozen: Be sincere and explain exactly what you did right before the freezing occurred. Be firm in stating that you did not cheat, wouldn't know how to cheat, and wouldn't risk your account and all of the time you put into it to make a few extra neopoints. Then politely suggest that perhaps there is a problem with their computer system and ask them if they would please review the circumstances regarding your freezing. I don't know how old you are, but you might want to have an adult write on your behalf. For some reason, adults seems to be more believable than kids.

Sometimes Neopets freezes for getting very good scores on games, becuase they don't check if you used a program or not, they just assume it.. It may be because of a glitch on the game, becuase there have been a lot of freezing for cheating at games only because of a glitch...

My account just got frozen earlier today, along with a few other accounts, all belonging to my brothers, sister, cousin and my sister's friends.

We suspect it is because we shared the answer for Mystery Picture. We usually work together to solve them and share the answers when we do. Apparently TNT thought we are all the same person as we usually submitted the answers around the same time.

We all worked hard on our accounts. Myself (registered for 10 months) and my sister (who has been with neopets for over 2 years) each have over 25 trophies, over 100 avatars, items worth millions.

It scares me to think that TNT can just freeze a long standing account without any investigations and consideration on how much effort one has put into the account. I have wrote to a staff member directly on behalf of all of us. I hope we will be able to get our accounts back.

I think TNT need to change their policy of "Guilty unless proven innocent".

Freezing is an ineffective deterant. I truly hope that sharing a game answer did not get you all iced, yptee. Did you all use the same computer?

I worry about being logged into the same account on two different computers. I have two on the same DSL connection and have used one to play one game and another to play seperately.

Now I keep the accounts and computers seperate... Justin Kase !

Hmm, this thing's still up. Well, it looks like I was frozen for sharing my account, according to about 5 words in a comment about one of the rules in the wall of shame. I am currently trying to plead with them to get it reduced to a warning. After all, I didn't know it was wrong, my mom didn't know it was wrong, half the frickin' world doesn't know it's wrong!

Oh, and yptee, it appears they're cracking down on people sharing the mystery pic. Seems these days that the only way to avoid being frozen is to avoid all human contact on neopets.
