how do you get, say, a broken gumball machine? I know there is also a gumball machine, but is it possible for it to be broken by your pets? And burnt or spoilt food too, how do they come about?

For the brokengumball machine, just play with a gumball machine so much it brakes. The burnt food is basically normal food, able to be bought at the LD food stall.

I broke my Gumball Machine when I played with my pets too much. I believe this also happens to the other toys.

As far as I know, burnt food comes from The Lost Desert and spoiled food is from Meridell. I don't think it's possible to burn or spoil the food yourself.

I am pretty sure that burnt and spoilt food only comes from the Lost Desert. You can't buy it anywhere except on the shop wiz because it is given out by Coltzan's Shrine. The only spoiled thing I know of is spoiled sphinx links, and those are given out by Coltzan's shrine. You can get a squished tomato in Meridell--if you go to the dump.

Regarding broken toys, only certain toys can be broken and certain types of pets break certain types of toys. For instance, if you give a lupe any kind of chia plushie, it will break it every time.
