Okay, I currently have a Blue Noil petpet in my inventory and he ate a Tchea Fruit. I want to put him in my SDB but I am afraid he might eat my Maple Syrup Negg or something. So my question is, do Petpets eat the items in your SDB if you keep them in there? o_O

Nope, if you leave your petpets in your SDB they won't eat anything - only when they're in your Inventory.

I once had a calabat in my inventory that ate a dirt pie. I'm kind of glad I don't have things like maple syrup neggs to lose to a petpet.

Have there been other incidents of petpets eating things in one's inventory, besides the drackonack and the cheese?

Any petpet in you inventory can eat any(?) food item that is in your inventory.

I've had Abominable Snowballs, a Bogie, a Drackonack and a Symol eat things out of my inventory before...I think any petpet is capable of doing it so it's best not to lug them around when you have food. :)

Yes, the space where the food used to be is empty and beneath the space it says '(pet pet name) eats (item name)' like Blue Noil eats Tchea Fruit...

also, the Blue Noil WAS up for trade at the time, so keep any pet pets you have up for trade away from your food items if you want to keep them :P
