Neo-Millioniares: How do they do it? :O

Sun Sep 18, 2005 4:39 pm

I've read lots of guides on how to make neopoints, and I've tried a lot of them out but none of them really worked out for me. I find it hard to sit for hours playing a bunch of games or constantly restock. I spend a lot of times on the Neoboards in the Help Board, and people are always bragging about how they earn 75k a day, or whatever, and I find it hard to believe but in some cases it's true. I've been saving up for weeks and I only have 90k. I just don't understand what they do that earns them so much! XD

Stocks are a good source of income with the minimum of effort - just buy at 15 and sell when you are happy with the profit. Most people I think sell between targets of 30 and 60, my target is usually 50-60 :)

One great tip is to do all quests under a target price. For example I do all Snow Faerie and Kitchen quests under 5k, all Espohogar quests under 1k and all Edna quests under a few hundred nps. As long as you don't overspend ever you can make quite a tidy profit to supplement your main money making strategy :)

I don't think I'd be good with stocks, they confuse me. (I'm only 12 XD)

Hmm, the quests might be good. I usually don't do the faerie quests (the ones that are random events) because you ususally end up buying something more expensive then what you get back.

Sometimes you can catch a good deal on the Shop Wizard. A codestone for a few hundred neopoints, or something like that.

I know how you feel though. My computer's a snail, so I dont bother with restocking. Games, random events, and the stock market are what I rely on. Every point Ive made, Ive made with a lot of effort. You could also try finding some deals on the Trading Post or in auctions. Or maybe some people on the boards who would accept a 'reseller' or discounted price on an item.

The quest tip is good too. If you dont spend too much and set limits, youre nearly guaranteed a profit. :)

I get my np from the art gallery-

make an unusual looking piece, and you'll probably get in.

I make models, and not many people make them, so it's easier for me to get in, than people who draw. :)

Or you could try the poetry gallery- it's pretty easy to get in, too. Just make your poem long. :P

I'm looking at the stock market right now. I think my brain's about to explode. D:

XD; I used to make my nps through the AG too - but recently I've had a bad rash of codestones and pppbs (if I can even get in that is).

If you're good at art, try the Neopian Times (during special events like halloween cause they do give out halloween pbs at that time and stuff) as they also sometimes give out random items - I got a meepit once o_O, or the Beauty Contest if you're really really good at advertising. The prizes from the BC are always r99, so you can take a shot there.

x_x Right now I'm earning nps through the stock market (as mentioned above), but another good source of income is shop wiz searching, where you type in "paint brush" in your search bar and look for pbs priced at 99 999 nps when they're normally unbuyable.

Otherwise earning 10K a day from a game is failproof - you're bound to have 400K per month which is really 1 mill every 3 months :O

I play a few quick games a day and make a good sum. You don't have to spend hours to make money.

I'm good at drawing by hand, I'm horrible at drawing in Photoshop or on Paint, though. XD I'm drawing a comic right now by hand, and my sister (who also plays Neopets) says she could help me scan it in so I could enter it when I'm finished. :D

Good luck with that! XD; And remember if the NT rejects your comic, try again a couple more times. I had to do that repeatedly in order to get my comics in later on D:

I play games, specifically Neoquest 2. If you win the Evil level, you can get a prize that you can sell for a million. If you beat Insane, you might get a prize you can sell for 4 million, but you can only try that once (Evil you can win as many times as you like). Mind you, it takes awhile unless you really like the game and therefore will play it whenever you can.

YES! I just found a codestone.

DiscordantNote - I've tried playing Neoquest before. It's not a bad game but it takes so long! D: I couldn't play it for more than 5 minutes. XD I have a short attention span.

I'm afraid there's not really any easy, legal way to 'get rich quick' if you are not prepared to put the effort in. Personally I'd recommend the stock market option, but it takes a long time and lots of investment to pay off - you won't see a decent return until you've been investing heavily (15,000NP a day) for at least a couple of months, but then the rewards get better. It's definitely a long-term investment. Find a few games you enjoy and do them three times a day to get as much out of them as possible - it should be possible to earn 5-10k a day with just an hour or two's work, especially if you play the 'featured' game which is double NP.

I presume you do all the free dailies? They can occasionally net you some NPs, a few thousand NP here and there - and they're straightforward to do. Things like Snowager, Tombola and the Wheels (they cost a bit but occasionally give you back a lot more than you put in). All the clicking around the site may net you more REs and quests too.

I just sold 5150 shares of AAVL for 61 each. I love the stockmarket! <3

The only way to really make money, like the people on the boards who brag, is to get a 'base' in which to buy more expensive items and stocks. You sound like you are not quite there. I suggest scratchcards for you. Preferably Ice Caves Kiosk. Buy at least once a day at 600NP. Sell at going price; usually 750-850 for Race to Riches. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get Icetravaganza and sell it for over 100K! Still, a Faeries Fortune at 1200np or a Peak O Plenty at 10,000np is nothing to sniff at.

This is how I started my fortune. I then used my cash to 'skim' and restock higher and higher prices stuff using the Shop Wizards. I used to 'snipe' auctions until they changed thier system. Usually on an item woth 50k+, people are willing to knock the price down 5k to get it to sell. If you are patient, you can sell it for more. You ahve to remember that those who brag are talking about the rare deal or extra special rare bit of profit. Now, I have over a million in the high price stocks that can change 20 points in a hour.
