I heard from somewhere that the people who alpha-tested the Portal and neomail.com webmail could get a discount on the Neopets Premium service. I'd really like to subscribe, but the regular price is a bit of a ripoff. I've emailed Premium support asking about this, but I haven't gotten a response. Does anyone know if this discount exists, and if so, how can I take advantage of it?

People who signed up with Premium very early on DO enjoy lower prices, anywhere from $4 to $6 per month. I've heard of people getting it for free, even. But I'm pretty sure this isn't available anymore, and the standard monthly price is $8.

Just curious, why do you think that's a rip-off? It's $2 per week, which I think is VERY reasonable just to get rid of the banner ads, let alone all the other benefits.

Well, personally I can't really afford to pay $60 a year for Premium. It's just too expensive for many of us kids that play Neopets.

Yeah, have to agree with you there mate. If anyone can get my parents to spend $60 per year on a game, I'll eat a hat.

And me? I don't have a job yet, don't plan on getting one too soon, and even if I did, I wouldn't spend $60 of my money on Neopets. $30, maybe, if they offered more for my money.

Exactly. :P Technically I have a part time job, but I'm going to college in the fall, and my parents are retired. This means all my spare income is going toward tution and stuff. My parents would be extremely angry if I spent my money on a "game". :( Maybe someday I'll have enough money to pay. :P
