There have been several wars/plots. The first one where people were split into groups was the Darigan war, which is generally considered to be the best war in the history of the site. You could choose to either fight for Darigan or Meridell, and fought comparable enemies. The next war, with Lord Kass, only had one side. After that was Hannah and the Ice Caves, which returned to the original formula used in the Darigan war. The was the much-maligned Curse of Maraqua war. Not only did you get to choose sides, but everyone was split into ranks based on their stats. People with higher stats had to fight MUCH stronger enemies for the same amount of points. That was the last war on the site, and it remains to be seen whether this will be another one.

Only problem with that, was that the ranking system was very unfair, to the lower end of the ranks - the enemies where much to hard.

I recall the Tyrannian War being the first was followed by the Sakhmet War then the Meridell War. The Meridell war was the first where you could pick sides (as explained above). Of coarse, I remember when you could battle the Power Puff Girls and Dexter's Robot in BD *feels old*

You had the choice of which pet you wished to sign up and which side you wished to fight for in the Battle For Maraqua. Then the battlers were broken up into three ranks based on the stats of your chosen pet. The opponents then could be fought in 'waves' consisting of one new enemy per rank level. You were only allowed to fight the opponents assigned to your rank. Here is Wave One as an illustration.

Pirate Opponents:
Wave 1 -
Maraquan Lancer: Rank: 1 Difficulty: 7
Maraquan Chef: Rank: 2 Difficulty: 100
Maraquan Foot Soldier: Rank: 3 Difficulty: 250

Maraquan Opponents:
Wave 1 -
Pirate Scout: Rank: 1 Difficulty: 7
Pirate Helmswoman: Rank: 2 Difficulty: 100
Petty Crewmate: Rank: 3 Difficulty: 250

With this system, a basic pet in Rank 1 could make 200+ war points, while a trained pet in Rank 2 (with Hit Points over 140 and strength of 75 for example) squeaked by with a paltry 4 points. :(

Noooo, I missed maraqua (fought in the meridell war though ;)) and I had no idea it was that evilly split!

I have good HP and strength on my battle pet (due to the lab) but awful defense..... unless its split by levels, in which case I definately win

Hehehehe....

*ahem*

I can't see us picking sides on this one though.... somehow it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen

("if there is a war at all" caveat... blah blah blah)

Puts hand up - that was me. Rank 2 - I managed 17 points and that was hard going. Better weapons might have helped a little, but I was way out of my depth. :(

I am really hoping that we do get to fight - even though I am pretty clueless at the best tactics, my pet is now at 200strength and 200defence and I have RoTL, Honey Potion and Ramtor's Spellbook. I feel confident enough to pound some ghosties. :)

Heh! that sounds like it would have sucked. I hope that they dont do anything like the split levels if this does turn out to be a war.
Personally, Im looking foward to finding out what happened to the rest of Bruno and Sophies family. They can't all have died... Can they?

If I have more than one moonlit cave, do I have to try both?

It's recommended if your not getting much luck in one of the moodlit rooms.

Me too, Daze, I was Rank 2 & spent untold amounts of np's for single use full healers, etc to break the 25 point barrier. I had 110 hp's & 85 strength. I was also CERTAIN that Neo would have 3 ranks of prizes to make the war rankings fair - but was definitely wrong on that count.

There was much complaining from the bottoms of both Ranks 2 & 3. I did wonder at the time if they'd ~ever~ do another war. I'm fairly certain they split it like that because the players who rarely train their pets had complained about the unfairness of them not being able to get very far during any war. Neo just never thought about the unfairness to those who'd spent the time & training, then got nearly 'nothing' if at the bottom of a rank!

I'm most definitely hoping this one holds a war now, as YEAH! I'm much more trained & anxious to see how I do this round. :D

Yep, I had to move everything to my second room to get any kind of result.

Meh, my Def stat isn't even above 40 but my HP and strength are well into triple figures. I've actually made it so I can't train any other way but the lab...

I have myself an HP, PFF and I think an ice club... though I may change that for a pike pike if I can be bothered...

I'm sure I could take on at least the first couple of waves.....

Now if only I could afford a freezer.....

My group is Sssidney.

Fri Oct 13, 2006 5:12 pm

the person in my comic is Sssidney but he was the person who gave me the first part of the message, not the last. Is this messed up for me, or does anyone else have it this way?

Fri Oct 13, 2006 5:14 pm

yes, it was the same for me - bagatelle lupe was the first person i visited, and i coincidentally visited all my people in the proper order, on the first try.

perhaps that's what it is - it's the first person you visited-- regardless of what order they did their speeches and you revisited? just talking through this, it makes sense because presumably the first person you visit would be your favorite and thus the one you'd most like to see in a comic. at least, mine was.

Actually, the first time I did it, Sssidney was the last person I talked to. He gave me the first part of the message. When I talked to them again in the right order, I talked to him first.
