I chose Kentari because he seemed the least suspicious. o_O

And as for the 'dinner' thing, my parents call lunch 'dinner' and it always confuses me...

were your parents from the southern part of the us, my dad was and that is what he did. his explination was that dinner was informal and was lunch and supper was formal and was for the evening. idk it doesn't make sense to me either but it was just meant as a plausible explination for the earliness. lol and kentair could make sense too. I just figure that the capt.'s story was more trustworthy because he would have nothing to hide.

I'll have to withdraw my statement about the coordinants, as I've found some problems with it.
It's not wrong, it's just.. maybe not right :P

Now that someone has pointed out it must have been AM that makes sense. :-) I had been wondering, too.

I thought of the "dinner" at noon thing, but the captain referred to it as "supper" and AKAIK supper is always an evening meal.

My parents are from England :P

Another thing to prove my Kentari theory (I secretly just love his name and want him to get more attention): in the Captain's version of the story, the Captain asks Kentari the next morning where Hoban is and he dismisses it saying he's "off napping" and changes the subject to ask where Orrin is. Ah ha! Not so non-suspicious anymore...

Did I miss a week or something? Did we really talk to all the people already?

Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:05 am

yeah and he did say "One shouldn't joke about such things." when Hoban made his famous declaration... maybe the superstitious Kentari pushed Hoban off coz he thought it might end the storm...hehehehe :battar:

What's wrong with the coordinates? They match up to all the Xs here.

From left to right on the grid, the choices from the answer list go: 3, 1, 6, 4, 2 (the X on the other side of the line), 5.

Wait just a gosh darned moment! I looked at the page where you guess and TNT wants you to tell the Captain...

Who Did It
When He Fell
Where He Fell
Where He's At Now
And Whether We Like His Hat

Now, I personally love Hoban's hat, and even if I didn't, TNT doesn't give me a choice to not like it. BUT, they expect us to guess correctly by using the comics they've given us so far? WHAT?? That's blasphemy! All the stories are too vague to be guessing a lot of those...CURSE YOU TNT!

And how come the Captain jumped to the conclusion that someone pushed off Hoban? Nothing of that nature was mentioned in any of the stories. I think this Captain knows more than he's letting on...

EDIT:
yeah and he did say "One shouldn't joke about such things." when Hoban made his famous declaration... maybe the superstitious Kentari pushed Hoban off coz he thought it might end the storm...hehehehe Eyelash Batter

If anyone's gonna be pushing off Hoban because of superstitious beliefs, it would be Linae, not Kentari (man do I love that guy's name!).

Boy, whoever said our character's interviewing skills were horrible, they were right on the money. Right now I'm trying to line up everyone's stories and make a rough sequence of events, and that's proving to be somewhat difficult. Then again, that could be because I'm trying to solve everything in a hurry because this might be the only time this week I *get* to make a guess.

As tempted as I am to just randomly guess whodunit and where and when, as well as where Hoban is now, I want to at least try to figure out the correct answers.

On a side note, now this is what I'd define as a mini plot. Kind of a shame it's already over, as I'd just thought of a great idea for an avatar. :P

Does anyone here know anything about ships? When Kentari has trouble securing a brace on the starboard, what kinds of things can cause that?

*goes to wiki all about sailing*

For coordinates, we are given these 6 choices, F6, E3, G14, I22, G19, G10.

I would have to think that the coordinates would be one of the 3 choices that begin with 'G' because...

1) if you align the 2 maps so that the MI in the 2nd map is exactly below the arrowhead in the 1st map, and count the intervals on the X-axis, the X in the 2nd map is exactly at the 14th interval and it's approximately at the 6th interval on the y-axis
2) normally, in tests for multiple choice questions, they always give 1 or 2 similar answers that are close to the true answer so that you have to be exact in order to get it right

My guess would be G14

>_<

I'm so afraid this whole answer submitting thing is going to vanish by the end of the night or something equally random and horrid. I want to submit an answer before it's too late, but at the same time, I really don't want to screw this up. And I'll second ggagahc's sentiment.

Edit: Forget it. I'm sending in answers anyway.

It's not the captain that jump to the conclusion someone pushed hoban, it's us that are supposed to suddently realise what is the all point of it, when he told us he was quitting to search. But as for having an illumination myself.....

Well, I wrote it was Anshu, but don't ask me to explain why. In fact, my answers are as good as guesses, so I won't share them all with you, no point to it. But I DO like Hoban's hat pretty much!

I hope I'll have more chance with this one than with the altador staff tournament, when my three guesses where eliminated almost from the start! :P

Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:36 am

Chef would just be too obvious, right? They are trying to trick us now, right? *Twitch*

EDIT:  I really wish I knew boat parts. Can I assume 1/2 these choices are wrong simply because those parts were not named in the story?

But my character had so many questions! Not fair! What a silly mini-mini-mini-mini-plot that had better just be a distraction until Altador plot prizes!
