Pretty sure everyone has the -590, 590; 590, 590;-590, -590;590, -590 stars on their maps. It makes it easier to properly size your map as well. If you crop your map to place those in the exact corners of your canvas, and then resize to 1180x1180 then your map should be scaled exactly to your telescope. One reason I think this might be useful is that the glyphs from the telescope code seem as though they'll be added to your map once you've solved a constellation. I didn't see anthing in there that would resize them when they were added to the map so I think each of those images could be a clue as to the size of the constellation we're looking for. I don't get a whole lot of bandwidth from geocities, but I put all the constellations on my star map in what should be the right scale here:

Question: Where did people find the glyph pictures? I'm interested in using them but I can only find them when they've been overlaid something else...

Someone was kind enough to decompile the telescope code and they were taken from within.

Hmm, okay I hate to be the one tired of all this so early, but I don't think this re-scaling thing is all that valuable in the long run. It doesn't matter that the maps are 50% smaller just like it doesn't matter that we can see a whole map all at once and we have a Telescope for a Magnifying Glass.

I see the value in percentages and perspective for the mind, but that is all. In other words I don't think they key to finding something is simply scaling two things to sync. Except perhaps if there is something hidden in scaling the gems to the constellations and perhaps rotating them so that we can find them with more than just the naked eye.

If I can't see any constellations in either of my maps (separately) scaled at 50% or 100% what does it matter? I still need to use my Telescope/Magnifying Glass/Navigating Tool to find them on a smaller scale than I can visualize. There has to be more logic to the gems (unique URLs) and star colors (unique maps), plus we still need to figure out how to connect the dots, until someone finds something (painfully) randomly.

You can grab all of the images (not overlaid) on my guide here:

Hope it helps

Hmmm... any chance of anyone being able to link them up? I find it interesting that they were found there...

Edit: Thanks Ria. ^^

I don't know if this is of any importance, but if you go back and talk to the janitor, he says:

"Hm, so you joined an Astronomy Club, eh? That sounds like fun. I wish I had the time to join a club."

Many people have been trying (including myself) but as with everything nothing seems to be working... o_O

People, please stop posting this. It has been noted dozens of times, and unless someone FINDS some significance, there is no need to keep posting it.

If you don't think it matters why bring it up?

Wow, I had my secondary map up for almost five minutes at 9:30. I was able to confirm that my star-map-generator was correct, plus I now have one flash window open with the primary map, and one flash window open with the secondary map.

The way I caught it this time was, I just refreshed the telescope screen until the stars at 0,0 changed. Then I opened a second window and waited a few minutes and opened a new window of the telescope screen. (then, had to wait a few more minutes, because the secondary map was still up, which was how I realized that my secondary was up for at least five minutes this time)

Still plugging away in photoshop, but at least if I find anything I can try it in either map, now.

FYI I *have* tried submitting constellations in the secondary map and it remains as the secondary map, even though the primary map is back as the current one. It does not change back to the primary map after you submit. It does it ONLY if you refresh the whole page. So if you want to work in the secondary map for a bit, refresh until you get it, then don't refresh again.

This is fantastic news - I just hope I can get my second map open soon *crosses fingers and bangs F5*

Oh, just a quick idea for anyone trying to match a constellation to their star map: I suggest the sleeper first. It has six stars and also one of the most recognizable patterns... I've been looking over my maps for a while now with varying constellations... no luck yet, but I'm not rotating them until I've tried all of them, so...

I just hope we don't have to map out half a constellation in starscape 1, and the other half in map 2. That'd be cruel. -.-;

Elric, I am not quite sure I am getting your messages in PPT. Maybe I selected Delete All and that included some unrefreshed new PMs. o_O

Please e-mail me if you didn't get my last PM or are as confused as I am.

( mailto:psygirl604@msn.com )

Sorry about all the confusion and delayed responses.
