Hmmm so you lose to get him? guess avatar wasn't active when Sid was around last time. Oh well, guess I gotta wait again. Tch...I'm going ot eat Sid. He's the only 1-player challanger I haven't beaten.

So does he pop up while you are fighting Bob or do you actually select bob and he shows up instead?

On the 1 Player selection screen, his name will still appear as "Punchbag Bob" as usual, the only noticable difference is your difficulty rating will be different. Sid is still rated as 0 but if you have beaten Bob (or even been "beaten" by Bob) those stats aren't present and are replaced by stats for any battles you have had with Sid.
You still click on Bob, but when you attack, it is Sid instead.

I'm getting this from friends, but it seems to match up with how I got the av.
You need to have your active pet lose to Sid to get the avatar.
If you're not sure if it's Sid or Bob (it says Bob even when Sid is there), Sid has 2000 hp, while Bob has 5000 hp. Their pictures are slightly different, but the hp is much easier to remember.
I'm being told he comes out twice a day for about 10 minutes, but I have no idea if that's correct.

So in other words.. as long as when we go to the 1 player battledome area and see that the difficulty is reseted, that means Sid is in the house.
Ok ! It's gonna take some time... but the avatar is kinda worth :/

Yes. If you're desperate for the av, just keep a page open to the av board and refresh once in awhile until you see mass New Member postings of 'ong sid is dere!'

I'm hearing the exact same things from some reliable friends too. Somehow, one of my guild members accurately predicted what time he would appear and I am sill waiting to hear from her how she knew that. (Maybe it was a lucky guess.)
Another tip I received: For an easier way to tell from the 1P challenger screen if it is Bob or Sid, check the difficulty column:
For Bob it will say "0+x" (x = number of times you have beaten Bob.)
For Sid it will say "100+-x" (plus or minus the number of times you have beaten or lost to Sid)

Someone yesterday on my guild board said that he missed it, and now he'll have to wait until 3 o'clock tomorrow (that was yesterday night he said that) to get it. Now I don't know what time zone he's in, so I don't know if he's referring to his time or NST, and I'm assuming he meant PM not AM. So maybe we could try 3pm NST?

I never knew that Sid appeared on certain times for everyone. I thought it was completely random.
