as its been mentioned on here and in the editorial, a lot of them were images that were worked on as part of the development of existing pets.

Because the existing pets were drawn a long time ago. Why would they go back to the old drawing style they had?

these pets were awesome, they were so well done!

I was thinking though, mabey we might have some hope for these pets because didnt they say that the other side of neopia would be revealed this year? Could any of these possibly be species from the other side? I HOPE SO!

I wish they would put up a link (and keep it up all day) to the all pets page with the new pets on it. Even if it's too late to keep up the joke, some people who missed it might want to see what they missed. If I hadn't been on late last night, I'd have no idea what you all are talking about. I got up wanting another look at all the pets and their names, but I guess I'm out of luck (unless someone took screenshots).

Hehe That was our little April Fool's Day joke. We always do something silly at this time of year. Those species aren't really released, and they won't have their own pet days. You are not by any means the only person who fell for it. (You can stop sending the angry *how dare you release 50 or why are they so ugly* messages now heh ). I mean did you see the Hughhman or the scary Gorilla/Turtle ?!?! :D

Well a lot of those pets were designs that didn't quite make it in the past. If one or two seem popular we could possibly end up tweaking the things we didn't like so much about them and adding a more refined version. We have no plans to do that at present though.

The DonkeyKongBowser hybrid wasnt ugly. And more than just a couple were good... almost ALL of them were good... donna... adam... el pik.... someone on the neopets staff read this board and pound some sence into your other staff members

I couldn't agree more - what were the neopets staff thinking??

I didn't see one single complaint about the pets being ugly, all I saw were boards upon boards of people wondering why neo were being so mean for their april fools joke.

There wasn't one single pet there that didn't have a whole load of people loving it and wanting one. What a lame "joke" - lets show our members some uber cool pets that are much better than the original ones and then go "haha, you can't have them".

I want my soreen. I love serpants and dragons. Why do they hve to do that. Also I want a polafint and and a sharkaw. I hope TNT comes to this board. I hope they see everyone loves most of those pets. We should have a neopets poll saying which ones we want like having a straight out yes or no poll. Has to have more than 50% vote. Don't you think that's a good idea?

Gah, they got rid of them already? I wanted to have a better look at them! The only reason I knew about it before was because I caught a glimpse while loggin on at school, but then had to get off a minute later. They were cute though, at least the one on the front page

Yeah, those were horribly ugly, but these are great! I'd rather have those than all but one or two of the current ones...

Mm, I'll miss these little critters. They were so cute (well... most of them. The Hughman scared me. x_x) Maybe TNT will listen to us yet again, and bring some of them back as real pets or something (with Leetlemen, maybe?

)

I have saved them to my Photobucket account, though... So I can see them whenever I want. All of them, even the ones that scared me.

Aha, there we go.

I ADORE this little guy. It's sort of an inside joke between my friend and I about armadillos, but you know. Armadillos rock, and therefore the Adaller does too.

He looks a lot like the Mazzew (sp?) to me.
