Hi I've been a lurker for a while so i decided to sign up! Thanks for all your help guys, with out this site i would have been totally lost!

If you look at the source code for the fortune teller, theres this url

http://images.neopets.com/desert/ldp/fortune_teller.swf

there's a spinning scroll, on the side, you may have to reduce the size vertically, so see it.

Any ideas on whether its a clue or not, have you alreasy spotted it??

That one's been noticed. I think that everyone is assuming it's nothing for now. As far as I know, nothing has come of clicking the scroll pictured (gold duck), so...

Someone posted every piece of the .swf several splits back, as well.

Hmm...

Weird question. I'm on Linux, and can't download the new Flash plugin unless I get Linspire Five-O. Do I need Flash to get half of this stuff, or can I still go to the tombs and not know what I'm doing and be fine?

In other words...do I need the new Flash plugin in get this plot, or not?

You don't need flash to get the parchments but if you want to translate your tablet you'll have to download the plug-in you mentioned.

One thing I would like to ask you is; why would you choose Linux over Windows or even Mac? It must be a pain not to be able to use most of the software out there.

It may be the case that people aren't reading the first page properly but that is no reason not to treat them with the same politeness everyone else does. If there is one rule I know about on ppt it's that flaming and needless rudeness is not tolerated or welcomed.

I agree that it could be made more obvious on the front page - or perhaps in the title that the front page has all the info.

Agreed - don't flame members just because they didn't read the first post. :)

Et Voila ;)

Personally I don't think anybody flamed anybody. A little "tough love" is needed sometimes. :)

Ah, but that's where you're wrong, friend. Linux is MUCH safer. Don't have to worry about spyware and all that junk.

All I'm doing at the moment is just going through the tomb. If there's a war (is there gonna be or not?), I'll be participating in it too. :D

Ok, seeing the above topic about the .swf file, I decided to try a few things.

The first thing I noticed was that we obviousley couldnt see the scroll on the fortune tellers actual page, and I figured this was because they neopets page used a different .swf file. So I found the one neopets used by copying and pasting the source into the Geocities HTML editor and then did trial and error, and I found that the scroll IS there spinning. We just can't see it.
So here's my thought:

I'm thinking that something you do triggers the flash file to move the scroll over into the crystal ball, as after a simple look - you would know it fits perfectly.

Then I pondered this idea and I realized that there must be more than just the "chick" scroll. So here's my theory altogether:

1) Later on in the plot (or perhaps something we still need to do), the chick scroll will move to the middle of the orb and we will see it spinning there. It's at this time we will need to go find the scroll and come back.

2) After we've done that, the chick scroll will go back to where we can't see it, and a scroll that was hiding behind the chick scroll (spinning simultaneously) will appear, at which team we need to find THAT one.

3) We will go through all the scrolls and need to visit the library each time to get them!

Note: I tried removing the Neopets bar, but the scroll is spinning off screen, so I still couldn't see it... but I know it's there.

This lack of anything to do is making me paranoid ^_^;; I keep thinking TNT is laughing at us because we think we're so smart for figuring out the temple. Watch , tomorrow they will announce on the news that the plot is over, and they'll post some obscure solution that somehow thousands of neopians solved, except us :P I would cry if that happened

I don't know why I didn't think of that, that's a good theory. You can see the scroll on the actual page (It's been like 20 splits since we went through this, that's why you didn't know), what you do is hit the 'restore down button' (middle button, upper right of browser window) and widen your browser window, the scroll can be seen far to the left of the page.

I didn't know there was flash authoring software. Can you actually take flash from a webpage and then edit it?

What's the software called?

Not sure if this was posted already but if you stretch this image:

http://swf.neopets.com/desert/ldp/comic_book/comic_book_shell_ld_v3.swf

Then underneath it there is an ice arrow pointing right..

Doesn't matter how you map it, as long as it stays bugged :).
