Good for them. I'm glad TNT and several of us were thinking along the same lines as to where this was necessary.

I love it on bank, sdb and pound. So if anyone breaks in they cant even steal/ disown your pets in spite of you.
Although with 4 didgits it might be easy for some to guess but ah well. Better than nothing. I hope they keep it

Not really, with 9999 possibilities....

Hopefully they'll put in a 3-strikes system, too, so if an account is breached, someone can't hammer away at it using a random number generator.
Another thought: we should have the option to use the PIN on our user prefs, too - right now, it's easy to change an email address and have the PIN sent to the new one.

Your pin should have an option be connected to a second e-mail. If on the off chance someone someone finds out your msn p/w or something, your pin would still be safe.
Granted it would require 2 e-mails, but they could always give the option...

I just tried. You're allowed 5 attempts. Not sure if this is reset daily or what.

I love this idea - I can't wait until it's released to normal users. It better be *shakes fist*
Kudos to TNT for coming up wtih this though, especially the multiple places you can impliment it.

I really like this PIN idea, let's only hope it's not premium only; if it is, I'll have to consider getting premium ;_;

Terrific idea.
I haven't set my pin yet because I'm afraid of it being glitchy at this stage, but I will eventually. And I'm sure it won't be Premium-only, you guys.

The new PIN security has been removed from the Beta Testing module on the Portal but will remain active for Premium members.(Meaning... We are getting too many email)
When beta testing is complete, it WILL be released for all users.
flighttime (programmer) posted that on the premium boards, but it got pretty buried so I thought I'd copy it, plus most people here can't view the premium boards.
You can password protect any or all of these areas:

Safety Deposit Box
Shop Stock
Unequip Your Neopet
Gallery
Pound

Hee, I posted this a while back on the unreleased thread x) I had no idea it was premium only (for now), it didn't occur to me but it's great that it will be available for everyone.
It would be nice if they'd put it on the self freeze page too though, that really would make it a top deterrant to nasty people But as it is anyway I'm really impressed.
