Agreed. Most of their posts are so freaking hard to read (due to fancy font, pre- and post- texts) that you give up after a while.

If someone didn't know what a H4K was, they might think that perhaps you meant something crude by it. (it is a real stretch, I know .. but a new mod might take offense to someone trying to say 4K for something nastier).

How on earth can TNT stand by and let this new mod act like this? It's totally mind-boggling how anyone can think he/she is doing a good job as a mod. It was bad enough on the neoboards before worrying about oversensitive back seat mods, or people threatening to report you for the heck of it but an actual official mod going on a power trip? That's just ridiculous.

For the most part I like what I've heard about the neopets people, they do a good job but they're really trying hard to make me dislike them and question their credibility. *rants* :x

We deserve better treatment than this :x

There was a board just a short while ago, people were posting very politely but confused because no one can figure out what all these warnings/suspensions/freezings are about and please to update and clarify the rules. It wasn't a rant/bash TNT kind of thing, really a plea to get things straight for everyone so we all know exactly what is and is not ok to do. Know what? The board was removed. So far, none of us have gotten warnings, etc. I did post one thing on that board. So right now I'm kind of worried.
Was this on the Premium Board? If so, then the board creator did get a warning. She didn't mention what the warning was for, though, but was surprised and confused that she got one.

yes it was, I did find out the person got a warning and I think the warning said something to the effect that if you have something to ask to use the contact forms. Which many of us know first hand how effective that is.

There was another mass freezing on the BDC? Yikes. I've been out most of the day and decided to come here before logging onto the site.

I know there's ab'ers, I think that's general knowledge. But an awful lot of people end up frozen for that because they get mass reported just because the person got something someone else wanted, got jealous or didn't get a haggle, starts assuming and screaming ab!

I agree that whether it's one new monitor or a few new ones, something does need doing. I understand the need for rules and I appreciate them (at least the ones I know about). I also understand and appreciate that monitoring is needed and is welcome. But this is just over the top. People are worried about posting anything anywhere. It's just too much.

I know when I applied and was accepted as a (volunteer) mod for a forum, I was accepted "on trial" and whatever I wrote or did was overseen by the head mod and administration. That lasted for at least 2 weeks -- just to be sure that I was "mod" material, could and would follow the forum's rules and use some common sense or ask someone else if there was a problem or situation I was unsure of. I didn't even have the "power" to warn or ban for about a month.

What's with the freezings lately? Four Neocolours members have been frozen in the last few days, all with the same reason given... supposedly they were using multiple accounts to earn Neopoints. Except that they weren't, of course.

I swear, all the freezings recently almost make me afraid to play.

Last night I played Zurroball for over an hour (yeah, serious procratination there) and had serious thoughts about whether I should send my score when I finally died for fear that I'd wake up and find myself frozen for "cheating on flash games."

So far everything's fine, knock on wood -- I should get my first flash game trophy next time they award trophies, too -- but players shouldn't have to worry about sending their legitimate (and hard-earned, I'm surprised I didn't dream about bouncing Grundos last night) scores for fear of winding up on ice.

And the Neoboards... I've heard of so many people being wrongly frozen there I'm surprised people still use it.

I don't like cheating any more than the next person, but it seems to me that the cure (such as it is) is worse than the disease.

Though the neoboards can be the root of *some* evil, this whole thing is going way beyond the normal warn/suspend/freeze on the boards. This is across the site now.

bgryph, I stopped by (I'm such a lurker) the BDC earlier today and people were talking about this in a round about way. So many people frozen and it seems either for multi-accounts or ab'ing. And what are the chances all these people will get their accounts back? You're guilty until proven innocent. All it takes is some jealous people mass reporting. I know, I know, every report is looked into. Sorry I don't really buy that. I've seen people mass reported and frozen when they did nothing wrong.

I too have no time or tolerance for cheaters (especially ab'ers ... this whole multi-account thing has so many of us on edge it's not even funny - and I don't really see that much "abuse" of having more than one account and you should be able to do what you want with your own accounts!).

But it definitely is going way too far when we have to almost be afraid to send a good (or even not so good) game score, post that we're putting a pet in the pound, or send items between our accounts or np to secondary accounts.

They really need to address this problem.

I'm nervous even being on my main account, how ridiculous is that! :x I'm not even touching my side accounts for now, even though I don't have and never have had any intentions of cheating that hardly seems to matter.

I am absolutely sick of this, it seems like neo wants to drive a lot of it's devoted players away from the site altogether. I'm just so angry, grr :x

The ice age comes and goes. There's always something, be it a glitch, bot, or overzealous mod. In all my years here, I don't ever recall the fabled good old days. I had my first and only, hopefully, frozen account back in the Dark Age called Year 2. Even then I was too afraid to inquire as to why it was frozen for fear of retribution. Guilty until proven innocent isn't fair nor ethical no matter how you twist it. But, what makes it so much worse is that we aren't even given the benefit of knowing what the rules are. I suppose we can't feel too slighted. They apparently don't inform their support staff either.

Remember when Adam posted here saying there would be an updated Terms and Conditions? One that clearly delineated the rules of the site so that someone who hadn't passed the bar could understand? Remember when those new rules were unveiled? We got the exact same crap, only recycled and stamped "New", hoping we'd buy it. I'd love for Neopets Inc to become that money hungry, dog-eat-dog, greedy coorporation that most fear, because then they'd rectify the current flaming pile of poo their support system is. Practicing that users are innocent until proven guilty would reduce the amount of monitors needed to press the JustIce button and the number of people they have to pay.

Don't you want even more money?

What I can't understand is when they freeze/suspend you they give you a page citing what rule you've broken. Well why can't they e-mail you with exact references as to who/what/why/when/where and how you did the supposed rule breaking? Or do they already do this?
