Same here... And seeing how Faerieland has 3 offensive players and only one defender, I suppose this team was "meant" to be played with this way :) I've tried both the other formations, but they didn't really work that well for me...

wait... you can switch teams once you've chosen?

Yep.

Go to this link and choose maraqua

Hokay, so. Here's my analysis of the practice game.

Their whole team moves. Mine just sits around looking at butterflies or whatever. Only one person can move at a time? What kind of chump deal is that? Plus, your player moves so slowly compared to the practice team that it's like pitting bicycles against NASCAR cars in a race.

I've played the Quidditch World Cup game before. At least in that game, when you've selected one player, the others are moving (like to intercept passes, block Bludgers, etc.)

This game is clunky and needs improvement.

It should also be noted that, the first time I played, I accidentally let the other team's goal into my side. My goalie was holding it and I clicked the mouse button instead of hovering to select him and he just threw it in. Any game where it's really easy to accidentally score for the OTHER team is innately flawed.

I think I'll be supporting MI from the sidelines...

Only Until Thursday...

On the formation note, I use 1-3 (1 Forward 3 Defenders). It Sorta works for me because in real life, on my team, I'm always a defender... So I know the 'Moves'.

yep but once it starts, you can't.

Yea, I hear ya, it seems biased for the computer team....I can consistently beat hte bots, but its always only by like 1 point....:-(

Here are my typical scores: nine bajillion to zero. Because whenever I get close enough to the goal that I'm thinking "Yay, I can score!" somehow my throw always BOUNCES OFF the bloody goal and then one of the blob people catches it. Hate hate hate this game.

I'm going to post on the NeoBoards--something I usually never do, because for some reason my IQ seems to decrease whenever I go there, especially the Newbie area *shudder*--to see what people who AREN'T here on PPT have to think about it. Lord help me.

Oh, some advice, make sure that you practice from both sides. I just kept picking the same side without thinking about it and later realized that playing from the other side was like relearning how to play in the first place, lol. Silly me.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 3:04 pm

ok this game is officially kinda hard. I hate the way the others just stand there and stop moving.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 3:04 pm

well, yes, the game needs improvements, but TNT did put a great efford on the event. Specially on teams descriptions. One can imagine the pets talking with the press...

“You from the media say ‘Dasher is too old’, ‘Dasher is this’, ‘Dasher is that’… well, Dasher is what you saw today.” “Dasher” Soley, after scoring two goals in the game that put Krawk Island on the Cup.
-

“The spotlight will always be on me, but it's something I'm learning to live with as the years go by. I have come to accept that if I have a new haircut it is front page news.”
Rinok Fitel, Terror Mountain

“Rinok is amazing. After a whole game, after all the effort, all the sweat, even so he doesn’t smell bad.”
Vaydo Pohz, Terror Mountain backup.
-

“There are goalkeepers that are faster than me, that are more talented than me, have better reflexes than me. But I try and make sure no one trains as hard as me.”
Xila Kitae, Kreludor
-

“What can I say? I would be happy playing for a top team, but there is nothing like playing for my homeland. I can't ask for much more than that, but I always look for more."
Lilo Blumario, Roo Island
-

“That was purely dangerous playing. If someone wants to kill you, he should do it in a different way. We are running like crazy with a petpet on fire down there and for someone to shove his tail between my legs a total of three times is completely unacceptable.”
Vitri Sitol, Meridell, about Kayn Hireck from Brightvale and their game at last years’ Meridell Community Games.

“Vitri is the biggest cry-baby I ever saw…”
Kayn Hireck answer
-

“My hands are frozen, my feet are frozen. I've never played in cold like this.”
Volgoth, Mystery Island, after a friendly match at Terror Mountain
-

“There’s a way to pass by me, but it demands a Ghostkerbomb.”
Krell Vitor, Haunted Woods.

I'm having trouble deciding which team, though I've narrowed it down to Altador or Mystery Island.

If you take the quiz, do you get forced to join the team it says? Or can you still choose the one you want?

You just have to pick the right side. My players easily outrun the practice team. If I the fire or snow ball come up it's a 75% chance that I score in the first 5 seconds.
Also it's not very likely that all the opponents will be moving at you at the same time.

I can't wait for the real teams to show up because this practice team is way to easy.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 3:07 pm

you can choose whatever you want.

Sat Jun 03, 2006 3:07 pm

Hold up, did you write all those yourself, blues-maroo? Or are they from some area of Neopets that I haven't seen yet? They're pretty witty.

Yes, TNT made a concerted effort. But effort isn't going to produce quality. How would you like it if a car company's cars all caught fire if they went more than, say, 70 mph, and when faced with backlash, the company just says, "Hey, we tried!"

Anyone can console themselves with "We tried!" But quality comes from improvement. If TNT keeps trying, they could hit gold and create the perfect game. (not really, but you know what I mean.)
