I thought I'd share this rare occasion with the world... I emailed mailto:bryan@support.neopets.com about my frozen account and guess what? I got what seems to be a... Human Responce!!!

I sent in my story saying I was wrongly frozen, blablabla, and he replied with this.

Sorry but I do not have access to this area of the system, I will forward your mail to the person who does though, thanks and good luck.

Maybe this means I could get my account back? I sure hope so!

Good luck, Tonu :) I hope you have better luck than myself, because at least ONE innocent account can be saved.

Bryans seems to be the only one who does not have an automated reply machine. :P

I mailed him about my frozen account... He consulted his supervisor and the dude claimed that i was scamming. -_-...

ah well, at least bryan tried to help. my acct got iced during easter, the big arpil 2004 glitch.

a friend recommended him to me though, i think he rather helpful.

No, he is not the only one who gives a personal response. When my daughter's account was frozen last December, I emailed Vipada and William. William wrote back and unfroze the account one day later. Vipada wrote back two days later just to tell me know that the matter had been taken care of by William. I thought they were really nice.

And, please remember, these staff members are dealing with gazillions of requests--some true and some false, some well written and some poorly written, some sincere and warm while others are nasty and angry. They are probably overworked and underloved (at least by some Neopets' players)! I wouldn't want their job for the world!

Wow! I hope your account is unfrozen!

I think I got an actual reply from Ben once, but it was written more like a auto-reply, so it might've just taken two weeks to get to me..

Major! Aren't you nice :D Even if you wouldn't give us any hints about the new pet...which is SO wonderful, I ended up creating one! Now we just need some Ruki fun images using the yellow Ruki *hint, hint* ;)

Many people, when they write to support for whatever reason, either don't get an answer, get an autoreply or get an answer, but it's months later. Most of us think that's simply because there's not enough support staff, that they're overwhelmed and overworked.

So, when someone does get a personal reply, and gets it in a reasonable amount of time, we tend to get a little excited. I'm really hoping for you Tonu!

BTW, William is wonderful! Except he never did respond to some further questions I had...I think again, just overworked. And I've always gotten super fast replies concerning TCG codes that don't work, not that that's a big deal, but I've found the people in that section to be great.

Of course, applications are always opened at TNT. If you are all complaining about such poor monitoring at Neopets, you can always apply for a job position, as you say, they need all the help they can get:

Believe me, if I lived near headquarters I would be applying! I love the idea of working for a place that I visit and have fun with and some knowledge of. Though I'd probaby drive my boss(es) crazy with questions, suggestions, etc.

I am a "junior" mod on a completely different type of forum (though that's not the same as being a Support person) and I'm sure there must be times when the admin wants to put duct tape on my fingers (think mouth, ok?) :P I've also found out just how difficult and demanding being a mod is, let alone being in a support area.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I'm on the other side of the country...

I got a response from Byran about my account. It seems there is a time limit in getting an account back after all. And this was the first time that I even got a HUMAN response! Or in fact any response at all!

Goes to show, no matter what.. I won't get the account back. If this one gets frozen, it's bye-bye Neopets, that's for sure. I'm not going through this again for a game.

But at least I got a response back from him!!! Wish I had know about him earlier, before the time was up.

Amazing what one can come up with when one is given a cardboard box and a roll of duct-tape!
