I actually think that there are more adults playing than kids--otherwise, why are we being bombarded by ads for medical organizations, classmates.com, Eddie Bauer, Red Lobster, financial investors, car companies? If only kids/teens were playing, wouldn't the ads be for Bubble Yum, Barbies, and Britney?

thank god for the adults. :P

i'm 20 (21 soon)

i do think that if you got the average age of players from neopets it would be off tho (other than the fact some people have multiple accounts) as i know a lot of people who put down the wrong DOB as they were under 13 when they signed up....

I'm 23...

We did an age survey in my guild -

How old are you?
Under 15
14% [ 20 ]
15-20
30% [ 42 ]
21-25
19% [ 27 ]
26-30
12% [ 17 ]
31-35
5% [ 7 ]
36-40
7% [ 10 ]
41-45
3% [ 5 ]
46-50
2% [ 3 ]
over 51
2% [ 4 ]
It's none of your business
1% [ 2 ]

Total Votes : 137

So, about 40% of the people are over 20.

From an aritlce in the June 11, 2004 issue of The Christian Science Monitor entitled "Games Women Play":

"Ms. Borgos is part of one of the fastest growing groups on the Internet: adult women who play cyber versions of familiar games such as gin and cribbage. She says this community gives her a rich social life.

'You 'meet' a lot of fascinating people from all over the world,' she says.

Women age 40 and older, when they go online, spend a longer time playing games than men or teenagers do. Cyber games are replacing TV, books, films, or exercise for 44 percent of these women, according to a recent survey by AOL Games/Digital Marketing Services.

Industry pundits cite the growing number of women in games as evidence that the industry itself is coming of age. Ten years ago, "the core gaming market was teenage boys," says Douglas Lowenstein, president of the Entertainment Software Association. Today, he says, "the average age of gamers is 29, the core demographic is 18 to 35, and a third of game players are women."

Here's the link to the article: http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/0611/p13s01-stin.html

There is even a site with a forum devoted to women who play online games called WomenGamers.com. Their motto is "Because Women DO Play."

So, my guess is that there are a lot more "mother hens" like myself playing Neopets than the average person would ever imagine.

I'm 20 years old and a member of a guild of 582 members, all of which must be 18 and older.

17 and suddenly feeling alot younger

Mon Dec 20, 2004 3:36 pm

I'm 49. I have a son that plays who is 22 and another son that plays and he is 9. My guild is a guild of older Neopians that like to play NeoPets. Some are younger than me and some are older. Don't let age EVER stop you from doing anything in life! Age is just a number! 8)

I'll be 23 in January. :) I guess I'd just assumed that most of the PPT users were older...I'm surprised to realize that a lot of people are a lot younger than me.

I'm 297.

I'm 19 (20 in less than 5 months!).

Though sometimes I claim to be 467 years old.
