i have noticed alot of the ads that i see in the banner are mostly some thing British Any clue why this might be?? Another think is i have seen ads for williamhill.co.uk (gambling site) , Now im wondering if some kid under the age of 13 clicked on it would it go to this gambling site. This is ironic as Neopets have put ban on children playing gambling games but they let them see a banner advertising it

I don't think the gambling adds are shown on under 16 accounts. They don't show on our kids account anyway...

I've found that when I'm in Ireland and I change my location to there. I don't get any add banners. just seems to be neopets ones. o_O

But on my other accounts where I couldn't be botherd changing since I never go on boards on them. I get the brit adds. Since I think my location on there is still wales or something.

Since your location thing on here says Scotland, I bet that's what you put for location on Neopets too. Most of the ads are country-specific; that's why you're getting a lot of British ads.

nope go check my Neopets Account: aliboy41 , I put scotland in as i moved there from Australia about a 9 months ago so :P

Er, that's my point.. O.o Scotland IS part of the UK after all.

I doubt most kids could/would take this any other way. =P

Yeah, what's the "other way" anyway? o_O Isn't "bonk" something like "hit"? 0:)

Yeah, I mean bonk isn't a bad word, it means hit and hit means to tap and to tap means to touch and to touch isn't bad now is it? 0:)

Umm... I think they ment the OTHER meaning of bonk.

Who the hell changed "to hit" into ".. .... ...... ..........."?

Amusing it is....
Almost all of the off site ads i'v been getting are for green cards...

BTW, on the right it says : "Click here to enter the lottery", lottery as in a chance to win a green card

The Green Card I got was different.. my country is Australia.

The absolute last thing that I would want is a USA citizenship... I already have Australian and British citizenship.

I seriously doubt any kid playing Neopets is going to want a Green Card either... I mean, its not like a little kid is going to be a desirable immigrant anyway.

I got one for Looney Tunes cursors that i was going to download for my nephew and ended up with loads of spyware and junk off the sponsor site that I'm still trying to get rid of. I don't think neopets should be allowing sites to have adspace when you go to a sponsor and end up with spyware and stuff that you don't want and don't get to have a say whether or not it gets loaded into your computer.

Oh that loony toons ad! Just the ad on the site makes my cursor go all funny - it starts "blinking" for lack of a better word.

I haven't clicked any links. But the offsite ... click this link and end up where? with what? ... has been an argument of mine against this whole outside link thing. I note here there's an ad for a screensaver site. I made the mistake of going to one of those once. What a nightmare to, as you're doing, get rid of all the junk that ended up on my computer.

I'm guessing you have spybot, ad-aware and a/v? You might want to get, if you don't have, CWshredder, go to the McAfee site and get Stinger (separate little trojan/virus scan) and HijackThis - just in case you need a log for a tech help forum. I did have a free 15 day trial of Giant spyware protection - it's top rated. But it slowed my already slow dial up down too much. It is excellent, but it costs like $30 a year after the 15 days.
