I'm level 25. So

26: Southern Canyons
27: Lost Cave 1
28: Lost Caves 2 and 3
29: Lost Cave 4
30: Terrror Mountain peak, if not just fight Scuzzy and his EXP boost will send you to level 30. If you're STILL not 30, then train in the Lost Desert.

You certainly won't gain a level on ost Cave 3 So you'll have to mix it with cave 2. Stupid mesmerizers...

How'd you get to level 27? Did you gain 2 levels in the Canyons?

Something like that, yes.

And I have patience, if I'm not at the level I'm aiming for by the time I reach a specific place, I just wander around gaining exp.

Well, I have about a third of the EXP for level 26. I'll probably get level 26 in the Southern Canyons, and then a third...oh wait. Never mind. I'll just go with the plan in my other post

at last, im in faerieland i cant wait for my evil difficulty prize... (hopefully its not that draik's tooth )

but itll take a while, since i entered chapter 5 only on level 48. that esophagor was a piece of cake. maybe because he ate too much cake

No offense, but I think you're underleveled. I mean, I fought the faeries at level 48 on normal!

Anyway, I'm at the adventurer's encampment. I'm a few 100 EXp away from level 27, so I'll Probably be fighting Suczzy at level 30.

28: Lost Cave 1, and maybe Lost Cave 2 beginning
29: Lost Cave 2 and 3, possibly beginning of Lost Cave 4
30: Lost Cave 4, and possibly Terror Mountain Peak.

The peak will finish off any levels you're close too

also realized (a few weeks ago) that in NQII, when you're in an...'enclosed' place (e.g temple, cave) your view is only 3 tiles (so the entire board is 7x7 (tiles)). In an 'exposed place' (e.g Lost Desert, Terror Mountain Passes) your view is 4 tiles! The 'exposed' place includes towns (If I recall it correctly).

Agreed. You're probably going to have to level up quite a bit in Faerieland, or use a lot of potions.

I'm currently Level 30 on Level Four of the Caves. I'm aiming to get another level, then get to 32 before reaching Scuzzy.

And yes, I did manage to gain a level for each level of the caves - including level 3
