This is totally a long shot, but worth a consideration:

Has anyone found any "special ding words" that start with vowels? I'm wondering if an acronym could be formed from the letters beginning the words.

So far we have LHDRSN (this includes only the non-Neopian words), which have good potential to spell out other words.

*shrug*

Location: It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
None of these words produce the cool chimes:

desert princess secret hint pyramid snot
bride dead sand scarab ghosts speak
evil quest glass find plan do not
let get go tell warn be send take want is are make

scamander is too long
hissy isn't a word

these words make the chime:
ixi
lenny
noil noils
sloth
quiggle
usul
neopia
dont

edit: I'm starting to think that it's just neopian-unique words that set it off. In the game instructions it says that you get extra points for forming neopian words, I think the chime is just the extra point indicator.

Hmm. Well, it's an actual word as well, having something to do with fabrics or something, I think.

It's not quite like "Usul" or something that has no rest-of-the-world meaning.

Ok...The first time I typed in my propechy, it dumped me through the trap, so I thought maybe I need to add a period at the end. So an hour later I tried typing the prophecy with the period. Neither of them work, and both times I fell through the trap. I am sure that I am typing the propechy correctly. Argh, what am I doing wrong?

We assumed the latter list chimed - and the word Dont does also so it's not just Neopian words.

The past several Lenny Conundrums were related to the Lost Desert Plot, actually.

Yes, Neopian words make the special tingling sound and give you bonus points. What sparked the sudden interest is that it was discovered that the word DONT also gives the special sound, but is a non-Neopian word. So, what we are looking for is non-Neopian words that trigger the special tingling sound.

Words found so far:
DONT
SEER
LETTERS
ROD / RODS
HUNT

Edit: typos... and I've had my coffee...
Edit 2: Gah! Still didn't get them all... I must need a break.. lol

I'm pretty sure that ROD/RODS can be taken off that list, since there's many rods in neopia (like the rod of dark nova, probably the most famous one)

interesting... no YURBLE, no FOREMAN

Foreman doesn't shock me, but you'd think yurble would be there.

That means Yurble & Ruki both aren't recognized words, neopian or otherwise... coincidence?

Has anyone come across other species that don't work?

I noticed that you (or someone else) said that earlier. I only left it because it is still a really common word outside of Neopia. I mean, if they were going to include all words that have meaning in Neopia, we could get bonus points for book, books, omelette, jelly, etc. So I thought it might be best to leave it, just in case.

Heh... I'm not even sure this is going anywhere at all. But at least it's better than twiddling our thumbs and getting more and more aggravated at waiting.

I see, you have a point there... And it's true, who knows, we might even discover something out of complete boredom, wouldn't that be the most hilarious thing ever? :)
